Now that’s a truck you don’t see/hear much about these days! 🤩 Is that a 238 Detroit with air starter?! Whew! Bring on some more of this rig! Love the old trucks. Being safe here in Ohio. 🥰

I think Hayes was a mixture of truck parts from different manufacturers I drove a cab over one that essentially was a cross between a Brock way and a Mack Those conventional cabs look like a mix of a Brockway cab and front end from an Autocar.

Just love it. Well done Skadill. Here in the UK we have some good old trucks reminding us of how it was when commercial drivers didn't have the creature comforts of power steering , heating , etc, and the crash boxes must have been rather hairy on long winding hills. But these Hayes, Kenworths etc seem to me in a league of their own, and well maintained, must have given their drivers the confidence to drive through conditions that most wouldn't contemplate, especially the lumber movers. Great work chaps . Keep'em coming Skadill. Happy New Year Sir !

Impressive, didn't sound like there were any air leaks, and the brakes released. How long was it sitting?
@k.r.v.42196 жыл бұрын
Ok that’s really a cool old tractor. But come on! Yea it’s a cold start alright! Might have been parked there a few days ago, but no very long! I’ve been around trucks long enough to know it that had sat for any real length of time, the air hoses would have dried up a long time ago, the rubber diaphragms in the air cans would have dried up not all that long ago. To be able to start is one thing. But to be able to build up air pressure, release rusty slack adjusters and roll under power is a whole other matter!
@KuntalGhosh6 жыл бұрын
Always change the fluid and coolant before starting up the engine , because oil and coolant could have just leaked and if you start the engine you are damaging good parts, fuel filter and oil filter brake off there material and could clog up the injectors or valve, always put freesh fuel and drain the old one, check for damage , check for broken down parts before you start because even a little screw can make the engine or other things get more damage............ And I know this video is 7 year old!
