En 1971, à l'âge de 15 ans, mes parents m'ont appris à conduire sur la 403 de mon grand-père. Plus tard, avec le permis, j'ai fait mes premiers tours de roues avec cette voiture. On retrouve bien l'ambiance dans cette video. Merci.

This 1961 Peugeot has a 4 speed column shift manual transmission. These 4 speed column shifts were rare compared to the many 3 speed column shift cars of that era. The Mercedes Benz cars of that time period were also available with 4 speed column shift manual transmissions

I hope you warmed up the engine of this old classic before trying to drive it like a sports car. Also go easy on the gear changes before you completely mess up the linkage.

Nice car , the sound reminds me of my '59 Dauphine. I'm curious about the engine, how many main bearings does it have ? Is it a short stroke design ?

It has a three main bearing engine and a short stroke. The 404 also had a three main bearing engine at its launch but somewhere about 1964 they changed to a five main bearing engine. The Dauphine had a three main bearing engine with a fairly long stroke. When the R8 and later the R10 came out they had five main bearings and a long stroke.
