Wow, I thought that Parma 1967 was the best version of Corelli's Cavaradossi, this was another incredible performance of Franco and the other singers. Thank you for uploading it!

I have this performance on CD, and there are actually a few ways in which I prefer it (get ready, because this is going to shock you) to the classic 1953 TOSCA with Maria Callas. It's especially valuable for MacNeil, who made relatively few studio recordings.

agreed! but you should listen to the Tosca in Parma, 1967, with Corelli (of course :) ) In terms of cast and general crew this is probably better...but that night was legendary!

This four, and now seven, perhaps can compare and prefer artists who are singing better and not like sportsmen. But I only heard the first act. I prefer Jussi Björling and Kabaiwanska. Corelli loves his voice too much. Listen to his sooooooooon qui. Why?????

WHENEVER CORELLI IS PARTNERED BY TEBALDI......AND THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF EXAMPLES ON KZbin......THEY ARE ALWAYS EVENLY MATCHED......TEBALDI HAS NO TROUBLE BEING HEARD....AND DEPENDING HIW SHE FEELS ON THE DAY....SHE CAN ALSO SING THE HIGH NOTES AS LONG AND AS LOUD THAN HE! WITH OTHER TENORS SHE DOES SING SWEETER....EG ...DOMINGO AND BERGONZI... BUT ESPECCIALLY WITH DOMINGO TEBALDI TENDED TO DROWN HIM OUT AS WELL....UNFORTUNATELY THAT WAS THE NATURE OF HER SOUND. TEBALDI AND CORELLI MADE AT LEAST TWO WORLD TOURS SINGING TOGETHER...THEY WERE A WELL MATCHED...BUT MATCHLESS COUPLE!!!
