1962 Valiant Signet 200 Barn Find - Cleaning it inside and out

Part 5: This time on our '62 Valiant we are cleaning the barn dust, mold, and animal junk off this little Mopar a-body so we can sit in it and touch it when we attempt a first start. More to come as we get this old junkyard Plymouth Valiant back on the road. Next up, hopefully the weather will turn and we can get it running and driving, and stopping.
Next up we will hopefully be driving our 1958 Dodge Coronet Lancer to a Cars & Coffee, then stripping it down for a homemade repaint.

My dad had a red 1960 Valiant that he drove on the road for two years. It had a standard shift that wason the floor. When I was in high school one of my buddies drove it for a while, it was pretty beat up. That car is a time capsule. Since it appears as if you have replaced all the suspension members and are getting it running, I would sand down the body and paint it the original color. Fix the quarters and rockers and make it nice. That engine is practically bullet proof if you change the oil frequently. Parts may be an issue I would love to have one of those in that condition. It would be the only one of it's kind at car shows. I really like the Barracuda. I actually built a plastic model of a 1962 Valiant when I was a kid. It was molded in light green plastic. I also built a black Plymouth Belvedere featured in another video. I still have it.

I love the 62 Valiant that's those are super cool cars and we're overlooked for many years they're cool thanks for doing the video keeps me inspired that thing is going to be cool not in bad shape that interior mind-blowingly good have a great day

Certainly better looking and rarest than the wagon version... Considering that beautiful interior, I think it deserves a body restauration and a paint work.

I would use a combination of linseed oil, kerosene and dawn dish detergent to get the finish back.... I would also use sound deadening panels to cover the floor and headliner,,, then get some carpeting for the floor of the car,,,,,,

You should have taken the car to a bikini car wash, it would have made a much better video. Wet or dry, it's a nice car.
