Thanks for all the videos. Makes things alot easier knowing what I'm getting myself into before hand. Just a tip from the original service manual- there is a notch on the spring retainer cups that line up with the end of the coil. Book shows end of coil on bottom to inside and end of coil on top to the outside. I just lined mine up where it was the least binding.

Your best bet is to use extended shackles or do an axle flip. Call the shop and we can talk about those options. 800-977-2767

Probably just needs to settle, this is common. One short drive and it should level out.

When you did this, did you have to remove any brake lines or soft lines and then bleed the brakes?
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV6 жыл бұрын
You shouldn't have to remove the soft line to do this project, it should have plenty of length to provide space to remove the old springs. If it does not, we would suggest you start by un-clipping the hard line from the frame to provide extra travel in the rear end before you open the brake system. If all else fails, yes, you'll have to remove the soft line and bleed the system after reassembly.

I have a 1970 c10 What’s the best way and what do i need to drop it 6 inches in the rear?
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV4 жыл бұрын
Easiest, least expensive way is to do a combination of 4" springs and a 2" block. We did this to our 1972 Suburban project a couple years ago and it worked great. However, once your get to 6" of drop, you're going to want to seriously consider a C-Notch. The axle will hit your frame on moderate bumps without one. It's tolerable for a while, but eventually you'll want one.

It's always a good idea to use an adjustable Panhard Bar when lowering your truck. It'll help you get the rear end properly centered again. Other than that, you're good with the rest of the stock equipment if you just go 4".

@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV4 жыл бұрын
@@jimbo05551 Yeah, you're going to need shocks if you dropped the truck with bags. Ideally, you want shocks that are in the middle of their stroke when your truck is sitting at ride height. We normally suggest our line of shocks based on a specific drop, but since you have bags, it makes it a little harder to suggest a specific shock we carry. How much did the bags drop the truck to it's current ride height? If you know that, then you'll be in the ball park when choosing shocks from our website. Otherwise, you'll need to measure bolt-to-bolt at the top and bottom of the travel and split the difference.
