Here in Argentina, SIAM factory built these washers (under Hoover licence) until late '70s. I have 3 models, but all of them are single tube.

The Hoover pulsator did a good job at chucking water out of the machine.

that was why the damn thing had a lid to put over the wash tub - it stopped the splashes

We (US) had twin tubs back in the day, but they werent common. I dont know why. They seem to be the perfect medium between the speed of a wringer washer, and the efficiency of automatic. This video was interesting to watch. Thanks for posting.

I had one of these in mortuary school back in the 80's. Seemed smaller. Bout all I could wash was underwear, socks and a neck tie. 😊 Not very big.

this is a larger full sized machine made by hoover , smaller brands made compact machines that held much less , both are very good machines

Really? They hold 6lb. You don't wash one weeks laundry in one go in one of these. You split the load up into amounts that the machine takes. Quicker to do a full weeks laundry in one of these than in a 9kg Samsung.
@hibtl85102 ай бұрын
@@jaredini yes , its 6lbs or abt 3kg in each side of the combined wash and spin can , it wont take a full weeks wash in one go but it is a lot faster than automatic machines doing a full load in 10 mins while washing another at the same time , they are very good for sheets aswell

I noticed after changing the the water you activated the washer with the knob on the left. Does this mean youre using the heater? Im from the US where our washers dont heat the water. Well, most dont.
@hibtl8510Ай бұрын
@andrewclarke3622 on the front we have motor and heat options , if you select heat then the heater will switch on , and if you select motor you can use the timer switch on top to control the wash action , and/or to switch on the spin dryer by closing the blue lid

Why wouodnt you add conditioner as a deep rinse?
@hibtl851017 күн бұрын
these were not designed to use softener , you could do but i prefer not to
@andrewclarke362217 күн бұрын
Thanks. The reason for saying that is it looked like not enough water would be in the spinner, leading to build up. It's like our modern HE top loaders here in the states.
@hibtl851017 күн бұрын
@andrewclarke3622 ah I see , it doesn't usually happen on these because of the Force that the water gets spun out
