Sold 7/5/23. It will live to drive again. New owner is going to swap another drivetrain into it and roll it. If anyone is curious no title needed in Alabama past 35yo.
I've decided to pass this along to a new owner. 52K, stored from 1969-2012. I'd like to get $750.00 for everything you see in the video. I will not sell it cheap enough for someone to run it over the scales on the way out of town. Thanks for watching.

Ryan of Iowa Classic Cars should be interested in this one. $750 is a very reasonable price for this car.

There’s a story with that car. I’d bet it was an elderly owner, who’s ability to judge tight spaces deteriorated drastically, thus all the side damage, drove it from May until mid-November, then sparsely if at all, because of the weather. One day in November 1968, it snowed unexpectedly. Based on the (lack of) tread on those old bias ply tires, they didn’t stand a chance. This car is a Holiday, a four door pillar less hardtop, something that will probably never exist in any form again. I hope someone returns this to the road again.

Bad driver, or just bad luck? My parents told me about their red 1960 Ford that got hit several times. And they said the same thing about our red 1966 Galaxie. My sister and her husband had a red mid-90s Nissan Sentra that got hit several times. That's why I won't buy a red car or truck. Every red car in our family has been hit. But, every car or truck I've had has been rear-ended or hit in the vicinity of the back at least once, sometimes a hit-and-run, and my current black Hyundai has been hit several times. One collision was my fault, but I had "accident forgiveness" on my policy. So the Olds owners may have just had bad luck.

It a shame, but it seems like a lot of cars that were reasonable common to find parts for in older junkyards 25-40 years ago are just not available anymore. Growing up in Eastern TN and Western NC in the 1980s, there were still lots of old junkyards in business with elderly owners who just never crushed anything. They were largely retired but going down to the yard every day gave them something to do and you could stop in, talk to them awhile to warm them up, and they would usually sell you anything they had for a reasonable price since some of the cars had been sitting out there for 15-30 years, so any money was a profit! Of course, those guys are long gone now and the yards are either gone or the new owners only keep more modern inventory. Those old cars that had been sitting for twenty years then would have been sitting 50-60 years now, so even if they were still there, there would be very little left of them after half a century in the elements. Sadly, the scrap metal boom of the early 2000s took out a huge source of rare parts for car’s like the ‘63 Oldsmobile. It is sad to see cars that used to just be considered different but were still obtainable and downright cheap to purchase and restore become out of reach for the common guy today.

Nooooooooooo! Honestly, thought this car would never show up again, but just fade away. Glad to see it again, for the last time perhaps

Despite the wrinkled body it’s a low mileage car, somebody that is an Oldsmobile connoisseur will want it. I agree, time to let that one go.

Very tempting been looking for a 64 starfire for a while. You are right, I am a huge purist but could not go back with the 394. That said I would love to do a LS. Price almost makes me want to hook the trailer up to the OBS Chevy and bring that 63 back home to Lansing. Is it in Missouri area ?

I don’t think anything drops in easily. Trans likely needs to be part of the swap also

@gordon borsboom Trans in the '63 is a Roto Hydramatic Model 10. It would definitely need to be changed to use a later engine.

I think the LS swap has become cliche. Maybe an interested buyer could transplant a Cadillac 472 or 500 cid? It could be an Oldsillac.
