the rag joint is actually a shock absorber when your steering tires hit a pot hole or bump it takes the shock out of the wheel and out of your hands. the rag joint also will last many many years and isnt something that wears out in 5 years my dads 63 impala still has the original rag joint.

I am not sure if you will see this but I figure I would give it a try. I have 63 Impala with 605 box on it now. I just got a OER SGB5864 I can’t seem to get it lined up. Any thoughts
@gemcitywelding72343 ай бұрын
Which part is causing you trouble lining up?

Okay I return the steering boxes made by ORR. I purchased the CCP kit and the tie rod ends are very close to the the frame just the one on the passenger side do you have any pictures you can share

Does that 500 box interfere with the stock radiator
@gemcitywelding72346 ай бұрын
Sooooo, I honestly think it would clear but not by much. I’ve heard of guys being able to reuse the stock radiator, but every car is different I suppose. I ended up going with an aftermarket radiator that’s notched for the CPP box. Hope that helps.

I bought everything in this video and none of the U Joints fit. The only U Joint I bought different was a 36 spline to fit my factory steering box. But the other U joint I bought to slide into column did not fit either . Please help. (1964 impala SS stock steering column)

Did you remove the “sleeve” from the steering column shaft?
@albertp45302 ай бұрын
Can this be installed in a original steering box?
@gemcitywelding7234Ай бұрын
Sure can. You’ll need to find the joint that fits the correct spline for a 605 GM steering box. Hope that helps 👊🏻
