1964 - TR4 Engine rebuild - Part 1 - How To Determine The Bearings Size

I am rebuilding a TR4 engine and I wanted to make sure I am ordering the right main and connecting rod bearings. I wanted to refresh my knowledge in this area by watching videos in KZbin and I found what I needed, but in many small pieces in different videos. So I decided to put together this video.

Hmm, without blowing my horn, they used to call me Mr.Excel at some point :) It is amazing what you can do with it. And computer wiz... not anymore, the technology evolves so fast, that it is hard to catch up, and I got tired, but when I started messing up with computers 99% of the people in my country couldn't make a difference between a computer and a typing machine. That was back in 1986.

Hey, I've been around all the time. You went missing. It is great to hear from you again. I worked on engines before, but weren't familiar with all the math involved. So I read a lot, watched some videos and now I can say I now a little.

Hi Elin, Hope you are well. I was following your video as I currently have my 76 tr6 engine apart in a similar condition as in your video. I was hoping you could help point me in the right direction as i'm stuck not knowing how to determine what size bearing I need. I purchased the bently publisher workshop manual but it doesn't show the inner diameter of the connecting rod like you displayed in your video. Any ideas on where I can obtain that info. currently the bearing on there now is a .020 i'm just not sure if i should use the same size.
