Mr Man the ringmaster sounded just like Bugs bunny, and the lion sounded like another cartoon character that I can’t quite place. A good film teaching kids, and I dare say some adults, about how something we take for granted actually works. 👍

The officer that finds the missing girl is William Boyett, who usually plays (Sgt) "Mac" on the old Adam-12 TV series.

A lot of these movies can be found on other channels and in the internet archive without the stupid time counter

ere's the issue: Tens of thousands of films similar to this one have been lost forever -- destroyed -- and many others are at risk. Our company preserves these precious bits of history one film at a time. How do we afford to do that? By selling them as stock footage to documentary filmmakers and broadcasters. If we did not have a counter, we could not afford to post films like these online, and no films would be preserved. It's that simple. So we ask you to bear with the watermark and timecodes. In the past we tried many different systems including placing our timer at the bottom corner of our videos. What happened? Unscrupulous KZbin users downloaded our vids, blew them up so the timer was not visible, and re-posted them as their own content! We had to use content control to have the videos removed and shut down these channels. It's hard enough work preserving these films and posting them, without having to spend precious time dealing with policing thievery -- and not what we devoted ourselves to do. Love our channel and want to support what we do? You can help us save and post more orphaned films! Support us on Patreon: www.patreon.com/PeriscopeFilm Even a really tiny contribution can make a difference.

@@PeriscopeFilm Totally understand your reasoning. If I had to be the awkward one, I'd ask that you at least make the black bar semi-transparent - sometimes it obscures titles or other info in the film.

how nice it is to see downtown streets with people and stores open and going to the police station and see the desk sargent anwser the phone, not like today a phone outside the locked door of the police station and calls anwserd by the county dispatch center .

A lot of voice actors that voiced the Looney Toons and other animated cartoons, Mel Blanc, June Foray and others lent their voices to these educational films aimed at children and even some adult training films.

yeah, the good old times when phone-numbers in movies and TV-shows started with "555-...."

555-×××× was created for TV and Films. I recall reading there were movies that had used actual phone numbers and people tried calling the numbers thinking they would reach the location. Additionally 555-2368 was always used in Bell System ads.

who remembers when you only dial area codes for long distance calls?
@RaymondHng
@RaymondHng 3 жыл бұрын
I remember when only seven digits were enough to dial telephones in a long distance neighboring area code as long as the same prefix did not exist in the two area codes. Ten-digit dialing became mandatory in my area code as late as 2015.

13:18 just unplug the phone it will disconnect the call.
@RaymondHng
@RaymondHng 3 жыл бұрын
In 1965 when this film was produced, telephones cannot be unplugged. They were screwed down on the terminals and a cover was screwed down over the block. A party line is a telephone circuit that is shared by multiple telephone service subscribers. A majority of telephone subscribers in the mid-20th century in North America were serviced by party lines, which carried a billing discount over individual service; during wartime shortages, these were often the only available lines. In today's dollars, a residential private line would cost $41.60/month. Residential 2-party line $35.93/month. Residential 4-party $30.73/month. Party lines provided no privacy in communication. If you wanted to use the phone while the party line is being used by another subscriber, you have no way to disconnect the call because the other subscriber is in an unknown location, so you cannot simply go to that location to disconnect the call.
