Sounds like my dad when I was 16. I had a red 65 Dart GT that had a 340 4 speed and air shocks on the back. I’d air the back end up high and he’d tell me it would wear the front tires up and make it harder to steer. He was right on all accounts but a 16 yo likes the dragster look. It could sure do that. It had a pos track rear in installed and would take off like it was shot out of a cannon. What a car.

265/70/r14 and they barely fit. Gotta have the airshocks pumped all the way up!
