Excellent video.. I just purchased this exact car in Indigo blue with the white stripes here in Florida. It is a backdraft racing replica with the 427 mated with the tremeck 6 speed manual transmission. This car is in a class by itself. The sound, the feel, how it handles, along with road imitating attitude projects raw power and american muscle. One of the greatest street legal road race cars to ever take to american streets or anywhere for that matter..Right on brother....🤘💪👍🍻

Having had a few cobra replicas myself , I can tell you the hardest part of driving a cobra , especially a powerful well sorted one , is driving it slowly on the streets , if you are an experienced cobra driver , you just want to put man to machine and drive it like you stole it , even ifthe cops are crawling around , it was first built as a race car and that is really what it is ! Not for the abs / traction control / active ride nerds , this is a mans car in every way , if you get out wrong , you get bit by a hot exhaust too !

I'm a Chrysler man and always thought that the 440 six pak with proper cam...and the 426 Hemi....had the greatest sound during idling I have ever heard. But something intoxicating about the sound of a well-tuned FE ford motor at idle. I think it's the odd firing order and numbering of the cylinders that comes into play.
@raidersrideordie2 жыл бұрын
Google a FE 427 Cammer motor, you'll be amazed, I bleed blue oval 1st, followed closely by a 426 Hemi. The Cammer is a hemi as well, jus a 427, alot if ppl don't know the heritage of a FE Cammer.
@frankcastle52942 жыл бұрын
@@raidersrideordie I don't need to google anything. I'm 68 and have been around more 427 SOHC motors than you could ever imagine. Tuned a few of them...seen them in everything from pullers to street rods to old drag cars. You DO realize it was never factory installed in any production car...don't you? I first saw one at the local Ford dealership in the summer of 63. Guy who ran the parts department at BZ Mellinger Ford...now New Holland Ford...built one and had it on display at the dealership. They were beautiful to look at. And it's not a true "hemi". It's a semi-hemi, just as the Boss 9 was.

I enjoyed your video, I was the former owner of Contemporary #3212 from 1986 until its premature demise in 2006 thanks to brake failure and the Armco at Monticello motorsports track in NY state. I spent 20 years of Open tracking with that car. One of my best memories is of Dick Smith trying to catch me at VIR at one of the SAAC conventions. Sadly Dick passed on the next year. I was never impressed with the bone stock Side Oiler I put in the car when I first built the car and preferred the 408 Dart that made 615HP after trying out a couple of Ford small blocks. I have aged out on trying to drive fast on the track but I do enjoy watching others enjoy their Cobras. Hope you are still driving yours.
