Stock 1966 Dodge A100 Van "Camp Wagon". A Travco conversion. Pretty much an ongoing restoration, while using it. Original Aluminum pop top, with original interior. Large enough to stand in, yet takes less than 30 seconds to either pop up, or down for running. Low profile while underway. Cleaning up the engine, (doable as it has good compression within 3% of each other on all 8 cylinders), and upgrading it a bit (electronic distributor) 50K coil, dual roller timing gears and chain, rebuilt radiator and a new water pump. Has a 318 with a 2 barrel carter, (now rebuilt) and the Dodge 727 auto. Pretty much indestructible unless your really trying to hurt it. Also, can pick up parts almost at any auto shop cross country which is the idea and easy to work on. Will also tow my Baja, or my Single Cab VW loaded with toys, and some small trailered multihull sailboats I have. Ok mileage, but, I can live with it. Interesting, vintage camper with nice lines.

sweet van! , you should do a video of the inside with the top closed to see what head room is like without it being up.

Thanks, but she's gone, but the guy who bought her is pretty active on the vintage dodge van site. He'll probably post some pics down the line.

That was the one on Craig's List outside of Detroit, isn't it? Was on Craig's List for many months. I live in the San Francisco Bay area. Really wanted to go get it. But, the ad & photos appeared as if it wasn't road worthy. Good on ya' for restoring it, bud. Thanks for posting.

That was the one, Couldn't hardly get it on the trailer, it was missing so badly. Carb a mess, distributor wouldn't advance, Universal clunking, it was ugly. Went thru everything. Guy who bought it, flew on out and drove it home to Washington from my place in the midwest. I also have a A108 family wagon, same ride, 318, auto (fixed FG hardtop) and a tad longer also made by Travco, and had to get rid of one to keep the project going. Really liked that ride though. Thanks for the good words.

Nice to see another Camp Wagon. I have a '65. Are your fresh water tanks still on the van? If so could I get a pic of what they look like? Mine are MIA. Also, Travco did not do Camp Wagons. It was Travel Equipment Corporation (TEC).

Thanks for the info, but I thought Travco was the acronym for Travel equipment corporation. Trav co. Anyway, I have the water tanks. I saved them for my "Family Wagon. They're just glorified jerry jugs. One of each for fresh and gray I think. Your welcome to any pics I can help you out with.

I thought the same at first too. Travco and TEC were different companies though. The Family Wagon is made by Travco, Camp Wagon by TEC. Are the water tanks mounted under the floor, externally? I'd love a pic if you could provide one.

Hey, thanks for the info. I truly thought both were the same. I still have the original water tanks, they were external (probably 2.5 gal) One for fresh, the other for the gray. One drained, one siphoned. Not a lot of tech there, but easy to maintain :). Probably going to use them on the Family wagon which is missing the sink/kitchen and I'll have one built. I'll see if I can't dig up a pic somewhere as the camp wagon was sold, not sure how I'll get it to you.

That engine looked like a 225 slant six to me but still a good engine

Hey Robert, I'm not sure how you get a slant 6 out of a V-8 318, but, I assure you, it's a 318. Your right, both are great motors.
