Last time I uploaded this, it was blocked. Still not sure why? The CTV 1966 Grey Cup in colour is amazing.

Wow. What a blast. And future coaches Bob O'Billovich (a DB with Ottawa) and Hugh Campbell (a flanker with Saskatchewan) are in the game. And Al Bruno is an assistant with Ottawa; Jack Gotta, an assistant with Saskatchewan. The first half was killer. Great back and forth action.

This game featured more all-star and Hall of Fame players than any other Grey Cup game. More talent on the field than any other.

Winnipeg/Hamilton 58-59 and 61-62 featured more.
@musicmasterplayer4532 Жыл бұрын
@@GetBenched2010 I doubt that, I checked every game. Only about two players per team on offence and defence for the 1966 game were not either HOF or all-star choices. Not that many for those other years.

Amazed at how they were able to set up Iso shots with that few cams.

Bo Scott won the Grey Cup with Ottawa in 1968, then went to the NFL and played six seasons for the Browns. He was drafted by Cleveland in November 1965, but he opted for Canada because he didn't think he could supplant Jim Brown and Leroy Kelly. It turned out Brown retired before the 1966 season.

Fred “Scooter” Sgambati on the call. Slingshot goal posts in the CFL, one season before the NFL.

As much as I love the Grey Cup Game, I wish someone could upload regular season games from this point in time.

Amazed the CFL had the "tuning fork" goal posts before the NFL did.

The Saskatchewan players had to cone to the Ottawa dressing room for post game interviews as CBC was most certain that Ottawa would win that 66 Grey Cup that they set up their cameras in the Ottawa side. Way to go CBC he he

CBC probably had a shrine to Russ Jackson somewhere in its Ottawa studios.

Newton, do you have the 1961 and 1967 Grey Cup games? Someone posted them, but they are blocked, and I need the full games for my collection.

Awesome fact: Ottawa lost its 1966 regular season finale at Motnreal...ONE TO NOTHING!

Not a lot of offense in that game.

For what reason did Ottawa have stripes on only one sleeve?
@timmyb582 жыл бұрын
I this an assistant coach passed away and a black armband covered the left sleeve stripes. Same for the white jerseys.

Until 1958, there were 2 separate leagues. The East was known as The Big 4, while the West was known as the Western Interprovincial Football Union (WIFU). Saskatchewan called themselves the Roughriders and Ottawa adopted Rough Riders as their nickname .

@@TheUnfunnyComedian In terms of Hall of Fame and all-star players, this game featured the most number of star players in any Grey Cup Game. That alone makes it a candidate for the greatest Grey Cup game ever.
