Dad had a brand new '67 Chevy Caprice that needed some warranty work. He took it in to the Chevy/Caddy dealer and brought an Eldo home as a "loaner". It was a palace on wheels. What a gorgeous car. I'd never seen so many gadgets inside a car. I'm like, "dad, can we keep this one ?" It was the first car I'd seen with FM Stereo radio. I practically lived in that car until he had to take it back.

I agree with other commenters, more exterior & interior shots, engine startup, and a ride in it would have made this much more interesting.

My uncle knew Harley Earl, the original GM Chief Designer who made Bill Mitchell, the 2nd Chief Designer of GM. Harley Earl had a coach shop in Pasadena, CA, where he customized cars for movie stars. Harley later sold his custom shop to Don Lee. Don Lee had the first Cadillac dealership on the west coast and, at one time, owned the mountain where the "Hollywood" sign is now.

I'm a Cadillac man. In my teens I was checking out the Caddy's instead of muscle cars and when the Eldorado came in '67 both came together. Sure they were big luxury barges but the Eldorado wasn't too much bigger than a Olds 442 and had power enough at any stoplight so to not be embarrassed, after all, your driving a Cadillac.

In my very humble opinion, the 1967 Cadillac Eldorado is the most beautiful (American) car ever made. The first time I laid eyes on one was in November 1966 at the Casa de Cadillac showroom in Encino, California. I was 16 years old, and I never forgot the experience. I am, and always will be a Cadillac person, and proud to be one!

The 1957-58 Eldorado Brougham had a cost of $13,074 dollars. GM lost well over a $1,000 on everyone of them, and they only made 3 a day. It was GMs response to Fords 1956-57 Continental Mark 2 project. Keep up the good work.

You can see where the 1973-77 GM Coronado design was inspired possibly. Simply ahead of it's time. It's hard to believe that in less than 10 years you went from the rounded bulbous "classic" "antique" car to a more or less modern design.

Very cool car with lots of curb appeal. I don't think many of these are going to be bringing 100K any time soon. They're all over craigslist for less than 10 grand. Not junkers but nice low mileage originals. A truly under-appreciated car. It's too bad GM didn't figure out how to make them convertibles until 1971.

I love the 67 thru 70 models. 70 was the first year for the 500 inch plant. Plus the 70 had 400 horse. 500 inches in all eldorados until they were down sized for 1978. Plus the horse was down sized big time too from 71 on. 500 was also the standard motor for full size Caddy's for 75 and 76. Biggest V8 from GM for all time. Came close with the 8.1 for pickups and big vans in 2001 but it was 494 cubes.

I don't know what is worse, the comment that it would take $100k to bring an Eldo up to show quality, or that they are going to be worth $200k. Geez. They made way too many of them to bring in that money, and there just isn't the kind of interest you get in say, a Ferrari or mint Hemi Cuda.. ALL the mechanical parts are available at your local NAPA store, not expensive stuff at all, much of it shared by other GM models.. There are Cadillac specialists all over the country. Sure it is a big body, but paint, vinyl, etc, are the same as other cars.

ToyKingWonder: The thing is after attrition (like most being crushed from rot/neglect)....the (extant) are becoming valuable. I have a 1974 Coupe Deville (I use as a regular daily driver)..........my Insurance Company has already paid the ridiculous sums to have it repaired (2 incidents it's already been involved in). Check out the blue book values of these cars from that era.......it's now or never to get a rebuild-able/good original....as the prices keep going up and up. Even a decent condition: Maverick,Duster,Pinto,Gremlin,etc.....blue-book continues to climb.

Big old boat of a car. I would rather have a 1965 Buick Riviera for 1/3 the price. The Riviera beats any Caddie hands down. I had a 1957 Coupe Deville that I bought from a neighbor for $400 in 1972. It was the the gold edition and had a little over 53,000 miles on it. And all the options which all worked. The back seat had never even been sat in. They bought a brand new Caddie to replace it and sold it to me for $400. I loved that car. It was a beast. And built like a tank. It was a wonder to drive on the freeway. Gas mileage was not great. It had the biggest V-8 that was offered. I can't remember what size it was. But it was huge. I will never forget that car. I used to wash it every other day and detail it. And was very particular in making it shine. It was emerald green and the body and paint were perfect. Best car I ever owned. Never broke down. They don't make them like that anymore.
