You're absolutely right I'm a retired mechanic 67 years HAD a lot of muscle cars example the 69 GTO I have right now no power brake no nothing I hit the gas end it will leave rubber all the way down the block on large tires it'll pass anything but a gas station , when I was younger I had a six cylinder duster couldn't get it to spend the tires for nothing so as a joke I put the front bumper up against a telephone pole and I was able to smoke the tires all day long if i wanted Power breaking and a line lock means nothing any idiot can smoke the tires forever if they want

That was a power brake or line lock. Oh boy, water, lock front wheels, then after front brakes let go the car struggled to keep the burnout going. Not impressed

Drum brakes. Yes, there was a problem with the kickdown linkage that robbed the car of lots of hp to the ground.

Rear tires are 275/60/15 on 15X10 Radir Tri Ribs. I'm not certain about the gear ratio. I was told that they are 373, but I think that it's steeper, like 430s or something.
@gordongreninger61098 жыл бұрын
I run 275 60s on 15s back in the day when I was changing gears frequently. Typically at 55mph with that wheel and tire 3:23s will turn 2150rpm. 4:10s 2700-2800 rpm. 3:23, 3:55 3:91 are common to Mopars. 3:73 is GM. It acts like it has a fairly tall gear in it. 3:55s maybe? Check your rpm at 55mph.

@@TheStraightDope857 It's perfectly alright... Between the pollution, the wasted resources, and the short-penis insecurity, this makes for a fine and rather typical American attitude. Bro, I ain't preaching; we're all guilty of taking things for granted, but now ain't the time, and think about how totally dumb one looks just sitting there smoking up the air and wasting money, all for the sake more or less, of making impressions. Give me one valid reason for doing this, other than on the drag strip in order to heat 'em up. We all better start preparing for lesser times... they're coming , like it or not. No one will be exempt from the hammer when it falls. Peace.
