That's a great jeepster I had see them before but only recently paid attention to them I like the 66-73 my late neighbor growing up had a 72 or 73 I believe there is a picture my mom took of me back in the early 80s and it's in the background

Those blocks in the rear are scary but otherwise, you have an amazing Jeep. Absolutely beautiful.

Wonderful job on this Jeep. Thank you for posting and for the tips. I am just starting to restore a '68, exactly the same model. Yours is the nicest I have seen anywhere.

Awesome Commando! Hold on to that thing. I've had mine for 14 years. I'll never get rid of it. Glad to see you kept the Dauntless and 3 spd.

Suspension and Steering need some work, but everything else is absolutely beautiful! I like that you kept the stock engine.

The Jeep looks good but if you plan going off road I'd get rid of those shackles and pitman arm. They are the weak parts. It looks like you put the stock Springs on top then the shackles to get the lift you wanted and it's okay for driving around town but I wouldn't go over 40. Did you tilt the front axle? If not you'll get bump steer and if you put shims between the axle and Springs it will wonder down the road. I've done several since 1977. Drive shaft angles and steering geometry are most important, fix those and enjoy you ride

Awesome Restoration.... Where did you buy Jeepster parts at....I cannot find any place to purchase taillights and mirrors and bumpers etc.

That's a shame but I guess I cringe every time a branch adds some custom pinstriping to my Cherokee and it looks like you've put a lot of love into that Jeepster. I used to have a '71 in college that I sold because I couldn't afford to make it look like yours. My brother has a nice '71 but his is definitely an off roader first and foremost (I have a couple of videos of it in my profile) and not nearly as pretty as yours.

I own a 71. Yours looks very good. Can you tell me how you went about the diamond plate? How do you attach that stuff? Did you re-do your floor boards? Are they diamond plate?

@Psaurus81 actually rear blocks arent bad,, front blocks are the scary ones

Sweet Rig. How does it ride at highway speed? I had a Full Size Cherokee, that has pretty long shackles like that, and it kind of made it screwy at higher speeds.

hey nick, you just made my day!! Im sophomore about to get my license and im looking for a jeep. ive been offroading and rock crawling since i was little, and the time is almost here for me to get a jeep...and ive been looking at CJ'S, XJ'S, YJ'S , but jeepsters caught my attention, so i have some questions...On the trails, does your jeep's long wheel base help you compared to a short CJ? Do you also have a hard top? Heres a weird question...Is there enough room for a single person to sleep in?

Cause at walmart i found a console that could hold one, but also I saw the Tuffy center console that has the security system for the stereo. Just let me know what you did real quick, Thanks man! Great Jeep! I had a 71 up till a week ago. Take it easy dude.
