Richard Petty's only Southern 500 victory, and his last victory at Darlington. This is the best kind of Nascar racing in my opinion, True and hard till the end!

I was at the race that day as a 16 yo. The spectators were let into the pits after the race. What a thrill!

I love it when a car bangs into Tiny Lund, bangs his hood, and just goes back to racing like nothing happened

They ran a 25 lap qualifier with 20 cars that 15 cars finished in lead lap in and Neil Castles won to get in race. Now that’s a race I wanna see

I’ve seen soooo many Darlington crashes, the really bad ones on crash reels and none of em are WORSE than McQuagg in the ELVISMOBILE at 12:30.

Darlington was none to kind to The King, Richard Petty. He alway's ran strong there, but bad luck alway's befell him & at least one really bad crash there almost did him in back in 1970. Like the narrator said in this video, Richard had this race won a couple of time's before he finally won in 67, and he would go on to losing it again several more time's going forward, but damn this track was mean to him throughout his glorious career, at least he made it through alive! 🙏

Little Bud Moore that is. Bud Moore the car owner was a good 15 years older.

There was a "Bud Moore" race driver, wore glasses, too. He had the looks of a young college professor. Read about him back in 1968 in Auto Racing Magazine.

This could have been a promotional film produced for Falstaff Beer. Notice the prominent Falstaff logo at the beginning and end of the film.
