Do we need to adjust auxiliary air screw while tuning ....my mechanic said never adjust air screw while tuning , which doesn't make any sense ......

Are you referring to the Air screw in Carb? Once set right, there's no need to frequently fiddle with it. But setting it right matters. Its a nice thing to tune it once in a while based on your requirements and if you know how to do it. Beware my advice should be taken with a pinch of salt, and no two bikes follow the same turns. Always adjust while the engine is warm. For Mikarb VM24, the first step is to let more fuel flow through your pilot jet, so use idle adjuster to set high rpm. Now close the air screw tight. Now your bike will struggle to breathe, sometimes ignition stops. Then slowly release the air screw, rotating it in anti clockwise direction. Bike should gain rpm and reaches the peak and start to struggle once again. The peak rpm for the given fuel flow is what you must consider. You should stop rotating the screw when you hear the increase in rpm. Taking another turn may not show changes in rpm, but you must stick to the initial point or somewhere around that. Because running a bit rich does less harm than running lean.

The previous owner had lightened the crank..It was only 8kg ish
