Taking out my dad's 1967 GT 500. This car is gorgeous, powerful, and SO FUN to drive!! You can truly feel the power in the 427 and it is an amazing feeling.
A great article on the 427 engine

Awesome!! Nice car and sounds great. I have a '67 Fastback that I painted the same color scheme. It has a 351C, EFI with auto trans, traction lock 9" rear end with 3:00 gears, complete Shelby suspension all around. My intent was to make it a Shelby look-a-like but I only bought the scoops on the side with the vents to the rear brakes, everything else was too expensive. Both of my kids want the car. Enjoy it and drive safe.

Eli, you should grab the Marti Report for this car. It provides a means to authenticate everything. BTW, the 428 usually found in these cars is technically listed as a Ford Cobra 428 or a 428 Special Interceptor because it was a Police Interceptor with additional upgrades. A lot of commenters getting all wrapped up about the 428/427 thing. Regardless of none of them being factory produced for public sale with a 427, there WERE some of them driven off the lot brand new with a 427, because everybody knew which was the better engine choice - If a person had the money, they were going to ask the dealer to install the 427. Also, given the fact that so many of the 427 powered Fords were wrapped around trees or phone poles, it's no wonder this one has so many incorrect parts. I personally do not care for the "original" look, replete with cracked up front fenders where new pieces were grafted on and crappy paint. No...I prefer my cars to look good. A car in this condition does not have greater value because of the original paint, because it has so many problems to begin with....the wreck, the grafted on parts, the incorrect parts, etc. Painting it nicely and correcting the flaws would increase the value quite a lot. Probably make it smell better, too! lol

Shelby American produced three 1967 GT500s with 427 side oilers fit to these cars from new at LAX. This is indisputable fact that anybody can confirm if they go read the Shelby American Automobile Club’s registry. I’m no armchair “expert” throwing out lame facts they pick up from reading the internet, I’m still driving my 67 GT500 that my dad and I bought in 1977. I’ve seen two of the three 427 equipped GT500s, the Super Snake and the Factory Drag Unit.

Doesn’t really matter what Ford did or didn’t do, Shelby American was the manufacturer of record, not a tuner or dealer. Shelby American race cars wore Calif manufacturer plates and they won the Manufacturer’s Championship in 1965. From new SA fit three 1967 GT500s with 427 side oilers. If SA put a Paxton supercharger on GT350 that is considered factory original. Fitting a side oiler is same basic concept.

guages are not right, speedometer is not right, wheels are not right, hate to tell you but either your speedo or tach is way off..........even with a 2,72 rear gear 1500 rpm only gives you 45 MPH. My guess is wrong speedo gear. NO 427, I see cast iron exhaust manifold......there were no cast iron exhaust manifolds that fit 427 heads in a 67 mustang chassis.........

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.:-((

@@elibaier Biggest problem is China, China told our EU politicians that they wont do any business with underdeveloped countries that still allow CO2 emitting traffic or combustion based industry after 2030...I am sure USA and UK also will be forced by China to 100% electric traffic because today no industrialized country can afford sanctions by China.... China just rules the world...:-(
