If I were a billionaire, I'd buy cars like this, restore them, and then give them to people who will actually love them. Classic cars need to survive to perserve history. Truly a beautiful car.

A friend of my grandpas, came over and asked if I wanted a car. He said it had not ran in 5 years because it needed a starter. I asked what kind of car, and he replied, '' 1968 Cadillac Sedan de Ville." He bought the car brand new. He named it "Superstar" He said if I didnt want it he would end up giving it to the local tow truck company. I had always wanted a cadillac, so of coarse i accepted it. Sure enough, all it needed was a starter. As time progressed, I put many happy miles on it. I even rescued it from my house fire. It almost went up in flames too, but it just scorched the paint. blew out the pass. windows, just cosmetic, but I totaly redid it and it was again, awsome. Unfortunatly in Sept. 12, 2015, I lost my entire inheratance to the "Valley Fire" Cadillac too....................... I'll never forget my baby.

1968 Cadillac Sedan Deville is an American upper class automobile at it's finest. Yes, my father bought a Navy Blue Sedan Deville in pristine condition in 1980 with a cloth or leather black top very fancy & classy to drive. My parents couldn't get me a new car that summer so they gave me the keys to the classic Caddy. At first I was a little self conscious of the vehicle because it was so larger and long but my bro who is a mechanic also said that car looked brand new inside & out yet. Not even 35,000 miles on the motor.

I owned a 67 Coupe D. the 68 is the updated model of the 67 ...I liked the 68 better...had the new side safety lights.....by law all US cars hade to have them for 68 and beyond years... 68 had the new 472 engine....my 67 had the 429 engine, last year for this.....Imperial had a 440 and Lincoln had a 465.....Caddy showed them who the boss is ..lol.......Cadillac ruled the roads back then....Imperial and Lincoln were her Queen rival friends.....these cars were America's finest cars in style, luxury and power ..

Does not sound to healthy, lifters are noisy etc. My parents had a 68 Sedan Deville. The freon was always leaking. It was a fun car to drive back in the day.

1998bmw540 When this car was new, Premium grade gas was at least 100 octane. That might have something to do with it.

That sound isn't lifters, that's the exhaust, sounds fine to me (I have one). I hope someone doesn't buy it and squeeze on 30" bling wheels, (although that seems to be the trend for some reason). Nice car, looks original inside.

Believe it or not,Millennials (that don't spend all their spare time playing video games) are the largest group of buyers in North America now buying Stock/Original Condition anything from Detroit from the 1960s/1970s.....that is when they do have to compete with buyers from Europe these days that buy them up/restore them and rarely drive them. There way of having a piece of Americana :).

Im with you on that. Putting those clown rims on a beautiful car like this one would be an absolute shame. Some people just dont get it.

Why spoil the look of the car’s interior by adding those headrests. They were an option in 1968 and I’ve only seen them on bucket seats. Never on a bench seat in 68.

It was rare for a De Ville of this vintage to be so highly optioned. Must have been an SPO. It was much more common to see a "plain-jane" even in the Fleetwood series. The 1968 Cadillacs were the last of the breed. After 1968, no more real wood, plastic knobs instead of chrome. Poorly fitted doors, fenders, etc. It was the end of an era.
