Hey thanks for checking out my 1968 Datsun 520 Pickup Truck, super hard to find in these years, you see the 521, 1968-71 models more often actually, so this is a treat to see. It has been upgraded with a A14 1400 Datsun engine, backed by a 5spd manual transmission, great add for a little truck like this when it comes to drivability. It has an NOS grill in it, shares the same nose as the station wagons from this year as well. This truck originally was maroon, as you will see on the dash, so the 2nd owner who restored it, decided to paint it a charcoal metallic, which looks really nice, he wanted to do an original color theme with it, which looks great, maroon bedliner, maroon, grey and black custom interior and continued the theme under the hood, engine is red, but under the hood is the maroon, also notice the wheels are maroon and grey, a very nice touch. No rust on this truck, it did have a 2" repair on the floor on passenger side, but everything looks very solid, very clean. The tires are new, with only about 10 miles on them. Lower in the rear with blocks, and torsion bar fronted, so easy to lower more, or raise back to stock, it has a very nice stance on it though. A nice set of Panasports or Minilites would be pretty cool on it, maybe 16" would really set it off for a more sport truck look. Take a look at the video, this truck is up for sale on Bring A Trailer auctions, this week, check it out over 100 photos, bringatrailer.com/listing/1968... , would love to show it to you, give me a call if you like, thanks Jason - Denwerks Vintage Car Shop - Blue Oval Ranch Inc, 503-910-2085

My father had an olive green 1967 Datsun pickup. He put over 100,000 miles on it in the 11 years he's owned it. It still ran great when he sold it in 1978.

I've fallen in love with these 521 series Datsun trucks, although, I'm very experienced with the 620 series trucks, installing cable tv out of them, and also owned one in my past to. I love the 521 and 620 series Datsun trucks the very best. Plain and simple, easy to work on, fuel efficient, as also to be able to keep good tires on them.

My dad bought a 1971 521 1600 in 75 with 20k on it. He sold it to me in 81, I sold it in 84, between us - we put over 350k on it. Besides clutch discs, brake shoes, king pins, and a few electrical hiccups, no major issues. I got real good at adjusting 4 wheel drums with a big screwdriver. Like it & a handful of other cars I owned, wish I would have kept it.

Brings back memories, my father had one in 80/81 for a while. It was rough and it needed a lot of work, but we went camping in it a few times. One of my memories of this is truck was we was heading down to grandpa house for thanksgiving and the little truck's carburetor decided to half way into our trip, of course my father never planned for emergencies had no money to tow the truck home, so we had to limp back home which at that time was Waltham Ma about and it took longer then it normally would have, well another problem arose when we got home and that was food, well there was none because my father figure we would eat at grandpa's house and of course bring home leftovers. So guess what we had that thanksgiving, crappie generic mac and cheese with really nasty canned mackerel mixed in, well from that point on my life truely sucked and nothing has ever went right. Outside of this misfortune I did have some good times when we had this truck and I wish I could get one now.

The 521 series Datsun/Nissan trucks weren't built till 1969, 1970, 1971 and 1972. In 1973, that was the very first year the 620 series Datsun/Nissan trucks were being built with a whole new body style and different look. Although I do like the 620 series Datsun/Nissan trucks, I much prefer the 521 series Datsun/Nissan trucks the very best.

What size rims and tires for your 520?
@danbasta3677
@danbasta3677 Жыл бұрын
14 inch rims which came from the dealer, or manufacturer which is Nissan who built these beautiful little girls. Wish they would build the 521 series truck again. Gas prices are well over 5 dollars a gallon these days.

A lot, LOT of money. Parts are hard to come by, body parts are certainly difficult to get just the same to. Unfourtionally, they are a obsolete truck, hardly not any of them around anymore these days.

They are considered obsolete these days. And that's sad because these little Datsun/Nissan truck were much better to own and have as opposed to the junk that's made available today here in 2024.

Why can't we make something like this now without microchips!
@danbasta3677
@danbasta3677 2 жыл бұрын
Quite agree, and I would RATHER own a little truck like this as opposed to a four door station wagon truck they have out there now. Can't haul anything in them, to complicated to work on yourself, gotta be a rocket scientist just to know anything about it. And yet, they guzzle gas like it's going out of style, and they're ugly looking especally with these stupid looking wagon wheels and thin tires they got on them now. Much prefer a little truck like this little 520 series Datsun truck here with a nice four cylinder engine and stick shift transmission. Hey! I like to give it a kiss, which means, KEEP IT SIMPLE, STUPID! We need to return to these much smaller cars and trucks again since gas prices are starting to head up again, probably soon to hit 5 dollars a gallon again. Let's see if these stupid four door station wagon truck owners can handle that.
