Love the sight glass in the float bowls...At least if you strip it and note the mods you'll know what you've got...You'll have it on the road quicker than you think Jordan...I'm excited for you mate.

Nice work Jordan! I don’t see anything wrong with your plan. I’ve always thought it’s more fun to drive a car than to sit around bragging about how perfect and original it is. Keep up the good work! I’m excited to see the car solid and sealed with a running motor!

It will feel nice to get the car to the point where it's solid and running. Thanks for watching, we appreciate it!

There's no rules that say you have to restore it to all original specs, it's your car so build it the way you want it. Watch out for the Pontiac purists. LOL. Great car to fix and drive. Keep posting and I'll keep watching.

Thanks Ric, hopefully people will be content with the fact that we're keeping the original engine and transmission. We'll keep the update videos coming, thanks for watching!

That's an awesome project car and I admire your ambition. Here is one note of caution, though: Primers, including professional epoxy primers, absorb more moisture than you might think. If you subject primed steel to beaded moisture enough times, it will begin to rust. Ask questions at your local automotive paint supply shop and I think they'll confirm this. (Or just put some primer on a clean piece of steel and leave it outdoors.)

I do feel younger watching this video seeing a car from my teenage years in the 70's..A good primer and a flat black paint job is good enough for me ...Put my money in the engine and tranny ..and those big fat tires on the back !!!! I really would like to see you clean up the factory wheels .Just to use them on the car as you working on it

Wow man, you guys work fast. Your channel is very Inspiring too. I wanna give you a quick tip, don't ever spray sparks on glass Windows wile grinding, the sparks will fuse to the glass like little speckles and you won't get the pit marks off. Keep it up man 👍👌✌

As long as the frames solid and not rotted out finish up the body drop your motor in and drive it. Ive been working on mine for 3 years now and it was supposed to be a get it running and drive it the way it was deal and slowly work on it. Now its got a built 12 bolt all tubular control arms 4 speed 469 pontiac all forged bottom end with ported aluminum heads lol. And ive yet to drive it

You are a smart man i made that mistake with the big dreams and 20 yrs later or longer the car is still not driving and now i decided to just get it to together and drive it.A lot of people should listen to your wisdom and enjoy your when you are young not at 55 like me because life get in the way with a wife a house and kids there you go your car dont get done.Later great job.Oh i Have a 68 Chevelle not to different from yours
@RamblinAround6 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much. Yeah, it's better to get them running and enjoy them first. Then you can always improve things a little bit at a time later. Too many cars get pulled apart, then never go back together. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it.

Being that much done to the engine you might check the crank. They might have put a 455 crank in it? If the heads aren't done might think about 6X heads. They flow awesome! I've had so many Pontiac's over the years. The HEI will save you so many headaches cause dwell on a point distributor are such a pain! Your really lucky the body is in such great shape! Keep up the nice work!
@RamblinAround6 жыл бұрын

455 cranks don't fit in 400's the mains are way bigger lol
@RamblinAround6 жыл бұрын
You can turn down a 455 crank to fit, but it's actually cheaper to use an aftermarket stroker crank.

I don't like concourse cars, if I'm building a car I'm building it to drive the piss out of it, My 75 Olds Starfire is just a 305 4 speed I painted in my garage and just have fun with. A 350 is in its future.
