1968 SS Hemi Dart

This is my high end clone that was built with great attention to detail and correctness.

That's a killer car. It's amazing how docile that engine sounds. When I start out my BO29 Barracuda. It sounds like it wants to kill you. Your attention to detail is impeccable. There were 90 Dodge Darts and 80 Barracudas built through the Hurst facilities. These cars did 10.50s at 130 miles an hour right out of the box. Just put a Set of slicks on and go racing. I have the announcement letter from Chrysler to the dealerships regarding these cars on my website. It's pretty cool.

only thing I'd change would be a more period correct set of "wrinkle wall" slick out back. the "pie crust" tires were more early-mid 60s vintage. Otherwise, wonderful job!!!

Beautiful beautiful job my friend, when I get around to it Ill have you guys do mine that way. Does the Hemi have trouble with over heating with such a small rad? What are the specs for the Hemi? I know they dropped racing Hemi's into these, solid lifters, compression around 13.5(?), racing cam? Can I get specs on the engine including the camshaft my friend? Also I know a majority of these came with a torqueflight, any modifications done to it?

Are you guys planning to run the car at all, to see just how strong the combo is???? Sure sounds fantastic, and healthy. If you guys ever get bored with it, just switch to a slick shifted 833 4spd box, and it will be like a whole new animal all over again. With the emvasis on the animal part. Real nice car though!

Hemi Darts had 750 HP race hemi engines , not 425HP street hemi engines in them.

They only made about a 100 or so in 2 years, a real one will run you in the 150+ range. Thats a little pricey not to mention most are still raced today.

btw, in my research the 68 dart never had maker lights in the fenders, hemi or not. Where are you getting this info?

BiffBallbag federal law made all american car manufacturers have front and rear side marker lights or reflectors starting in 1968 .

The only problem with this car is that it should have a 4-speed. None of the Hemi race pac cars came with the 727. I had a 69 Dart the same color .
