My father created the fire suppression kit while he was at Webb AFB 1960-1965 He was a command master pilot in the ARRS (10,000 hrs. in an aircraft that seldom flew more than 20 minutes for a rescue) having flown CH-19's in Korea, SH-21's in Alaska, HH43-B's as the LBR alert birds at US flight training bases, England, then Korea again, and HH43-H in Vietnam. He retired in 1979 with 254 people rescued 18 outstanding unit awards, 2 presidential unit awards. He also had enlisted service in the 8th AF in WWII as a gunner in the B-29,but he was the top shooter at the air gunnery class, so he got assigned as an air gunnery instructor for the B-29 tail gunners, and never had any combat missions.
