This 1969 Camaro hasn't run in years, decided to see if the ol' girl would run again. Enjoy the video!

I bought a 69/Z28 when I was 17 back in 1979. Same color with black stripes and black vinyl top. Still got it.

Very cool! If it was me I wouldn't even paint it, there's enough of them running around restored. That car will only show it's whole story once...

Yes, it might not seem like it but theres plenty to go around. Just waiting for the seller or car hoarder to finally sell them!

Nice! I got a 68 el Camino from a shed 4 months ago were it sat for 20 years. started right up after new battery and gas. I did dump oil in the valve covers. I’m sure you made sure of the oil pressure! Super important in the old girls, well any car in fact.

I love it... looks great on the rally wheels. That exhaust is another story, though. The tailpipe hurts my eyes.

The LM1 was such an underrated engine. Basically a lower compression 350/300 but they rated it at only 255. GM rules at the time said that anything over 275hp and a manual trans got a 12 bolt rear. Manual LM1's got a 12 bolt, and even some automatics did too. Chevy knew it was fibbing with that low HP rating. It's a shame GM canceled that engine half way through the model year.

I always think the first thing to do after a car sat would be to squirt some oil down thr spark holes so the oil can loosen up things, can then get to everything else

Hrley KFLY67... longtime subscriber. Looks like your 69 barn find is a Van Nuys built car. I keep a registry of these cars (for 22 years) and I would like to add it.

Nice find…. How many miles on it? It looks like the car has the F41 suspension package, which was standard equipment on the SS. I see power brakes, were they disc in Front? If so, another option the car got. Car has wheel well chrome and chrome gills…. couldn’t tell in bottom rocker panel if chrome trim was there. I believe that was part of a trim package option. The 350 4 barrel was the LM1 engine which ran on regular fuel and was low compression. The high compression L48 300 horsepower version was reserved for the SS Camaro and ran on premium fuel. Both were very good engines. I noted your speedometer needle was broke in half and positioned in the 90 mph slot. My SS Camaro was the same…. I bought it used in 1980. The speedometer still worked, but started at the 90 position and would turn as if functioning. Makes me wonder if there was some defect in the speedometer on the 69 Camaro. I would leave it as a survivor and keep that column shift. Too many Mickey Mouse Camaro(s) floating around with add-ones…

Parked so long because the owner let it go to waste.

That was kind of a harsh Reply regarding the former owner. The videos I watched it seems the young lady was in good spirits and told you everything she could About the car. Maybe it was finances or maybe it lack of mechanical knowledge or possibly she felt overwhelmed looking at the entire project, only she would know . But as we all know time Is passes us by and before We know it several years are behind us. I feel that young lady Deserved you being more kind and thoughtful regarding why you feel she Let the car sit for those years. Do you really feel her intention was to let it go to waste? I don't. It seems like She loved that car Based on the stories she shared. Anyway I wish you luck it's fantastic it is back on the road and running and definitely build it however you wanted. This beauty is in the eye of the beholder and Definitely build it in whatever way brings you the most joy. Double thumbs up From a fellow auto enthusiast Is. O FYI I may very well have a date coated 350 block. I do not have the cylinder heads but I'm 99% sure I have the block If you're interested Please reply and let's talk about your build date and I can verify

KFLY67 no sir. That is a Holley Economaster that was a smog-era replacement for Qjets. It’s 450 cfm with mechanical secondaries but no secondary accelerator pump. I did an extensive write up on them on Team Camaro forum and still run one on my own 67. www.camaros.net/threads/holley-450-cfm-economaster-troubleshoot.202180/
