I had the pleasure of seeing a 1948 CJ2A when I was a camp host in Utah. The family used it as an ATV to haul the grandkids around. So I have seen the 134 motor. Never had the luxury to see a CJ5 in petson. But this one is a beaut. ❤

Very nice Jeep! Looks like someone loved it. I had a '68 CJ5 with the dauntless in high school. I miss that Jeep.

That V6 was bought from Buick used in the Jeeps then resold back to Buick and they developed it into the V6 that is in Grand National Buicks

In 1973 my Late Dad bought a 1969 Jeep CJ-5 from the original owner. It also had the Buick 225 V-6 and the Ramsey 8 thousand pound winch. But for the then 14 year old me .The coolest part was they had taken a altimeter out of a PBY Catalina Flying boat. It was in the dash next to the wiper switch. The Jeep also had a Warn Overdrive. Dad made a spare tire carrier for it that had the spare in the middle with two 5 gal. jerry cans on either side of the spare and it also had the aftermarket tank in the back like yours which holds 10 gal. So when we filled up everything it held 30 gals of gas. It was the car that I learned to drive a manual transmission in our church parking lot and the one that I took my driver's lic. test in and somehow scored 100%. My high school friends and I drove the wheels off that Jeep. It's been gone a long time now. And the anniversary of Dad passing is coming up real soon Feb. 15 ,2019. Mom passed away on May 28,2021. I miss the Jeep, but I miss Mom and Dad more everyday.

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful story! These old hunks of metal are packed full of adventure and memories. What color was your jeep?
@lilorbielilorbie24968 ай бұрын
@@AllVehiclesGreatandSmall It still had the factory paint on it when Dad bought it. It was a IMO disgusting shade of Goldish/ Green that all of the car company's had a variation of back then. We painted it Yellow then the final color before Dad sold it was a Dark Jade green Metallic with a White hardtop just like the one on your Jeep.

I drove this generation Jeep in the 90s, only as the RHD, DJ-5 version operated by the USPS. Because the doors could be locked open in use, it was one of the few vehicles you could realistically run yourself over in! (No kidding, they told us all that as "encouragement" to always wear a seat belt...)

Lol! I have known a person to have run themselves over in similar vehicles! Thanks for sharing your story. I hope I come across one in my adventures.

That hole below the choke would make a great home for an oil psi gauge.
@AllVehiclesGreatandSmall8 ай бұрын
It probably was an oil gauge at one time. Great eye!

Some people calls it a kaiser jeep...I calls it a sling jeep. Mustard biscuits go in the back there.😂

Tell me my friend, why do you call it a sling jeep? I must know!
