Nice job! I like that you saved the original paint and decals where you could.

Awesome video,i remember when i was little and poor,my family use to use the old kerosene primus,from cooking or boiling water was incredible,with today knowledge we know the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning,back in the old days was not known that well.

@SyntaxScout thank you, as long as you have ventilation everything should be fine. I have ran these stoves for heat in my tents just have to crack a window to let fresh air in

@@Traillesstaken correct,now days we have modern devices to tell us the air quality.

I found my first 3 burner at a church estate sale,the scouts must have stored things in their basement, it was sitting with suitcases,they didn’t know… picked it up and a 508 stove, 1966 very clean, my heart rate was up. Big fun….

@donburger4835 that is awesome I have my uncles 65 425D 2 burner she looks rough, but I dont want to paint it or or put the back and side boards on her. I will service it and keep the gen tube cleaned out

By golly! I've got my Pop's 58 too. My brother is 10 years older and told me he remembers when it was in a box. Personally I am honored to have something my Pop bought brand new. I'm sure you feel the same.

You think the same way that I do I always use my used stoves and lanterns and save the new ones in the boxes 📦 🤔

Bought a 68 426D a couple weeks ago from Goodwill for $9.99 . Never knew there was a 3 burner, only saw the 2 burners. Cleaned it up and the burners light and burn well. Not as good as this one. Hoping it is the pump cup. someone put a plastic one in sometime. just have not ordered it yet. Also got lucky and my local BassPro had the propane converter hanging on the shelf. Definitely going to paint the interior metal with high temp paint. to protect it. Still debating on leaving the rest as is or repainting it. From a collecting standpoint these stoves really do not have a very high value unless they have the original box and instructions and in near new condition. Really no restore value. Now to get my grandfather's old stove and lanterns.

@williamknight9188 thats awesome, as for the resale value I am not planning on getting rid of them, its just something about the stoves I like more then the lanterns IDK what other then you can cook and heat your tent / cabin or what ever with them. and plus they are different depending on what year you got like this 69 here the clasp are different then the 1976 426D just little things like that is what drew me more to the stoves over the lanterns

I just got one without the tank. I got a propane adapter for it
@Jack_WarnerАй бұрын
You might as well just go and buy a propane burner. The whole point of these is being able to use unleaded fuel. I've got a double burner, and I use it out in the garden for frying, as my missus doesn't like me frying in the kitchen, because of all the mess and fat in the air.

I'm restoring a 426D three burner and like the look of the aluminum spray you used so picked up the same can of rustoleum high performance paint. Looking at the can though it doesn't say it's high heat. Did you notice any issues using it. Want to paint the burners but am having second thoughts using it.
@Traillesstaken5 ай бұрын
@rizzo3689 I have used a whole tank of gas in the stove and the eyes look the same as they did when I painted them, they did sut up alil but i wiped it right off

Trying to figure out why some 426D's have burner circles on the grill and others "like my 426D 2/69" don't? Just a bar pattern. Any info would help.
@Traillesstaken17 күн бұрын
@theed365 I would say that it has to do with what year it was made would be my guess
@theed36516 күн бұрын
@Traillesstaken I was guessing where it was sold. Batches made for a sporting goods store vs K mart. Not sure. The search goes on!
