Love seeing a younger driver truly appreciate such a classic, says everything about the timeless presence of a chrome bumper C3.

It’s an iconic car! I’m constantly on the hunt for c3s to bring back to life now

Currently have a ‘71 LT1 convertible that am embarking on freshening up the interior to show as nicely as the Bridgehampton Blue exterior. Interesting that you describe your car as not particularly fast even with the newer motor, while they were “fast” in their day…it’s a different world now! That said, in my LT1 it sounds and feels like your doing 80 when you’re actually rolling along at 55 or so, get it to 80 and wow…you better be laser focused on what you are doing. Modern cars are so effortless to drive relative to these old beasts…but that’s where the joy comes from, the rawness of it. Love it when that motor is winding out, nothing else like it.

I too agree that the 69 was the best C3 vette. I did a full restoration, frame off. It was a L36 with a 427 big block. When I got it it had already had a L88 bonnet and flared front and rear fenders. Also it had hooker header side pipes. I kept all the for mentioned upgrades/modifications when I restored the car. I did run stainless bradded brake lines and stainless fuel lines as well as a fuel cell vs the standard fuel tank. The other thing I changed was the carburetor. I put in a high pressure four barrel with side floaters like in NASCAR in the late 90’s. The sucker ran real fast. Also changed out the leaf springs and put in a coil over on all four sides that can be adjusted. Had a friend that had a rebuilt 68 hemi road runner ask me to do a quarter mile with him. NOT REALLY MY THING. I did humour him, thinking I’d get killed. Son of a gun, I beat him three for three. Wish I had of kept that vette. Had to sell it to help out my father. Great memories though and I still have my ol’man to talk about it. All very worth while.

As an owner of a 1969 427 435 Corvette since 1970, I could not agree with you more. I’ve had my car more than half a century and to me it is still the most beautiful looking body design ever made except for maybe the jaguar E type. My car has 185,000 miles and it still runs like it’s brand new. Over the years I’ve made personal modifications that to me make the car more fun and more comfortable to drive. You are a young guy and I would encourage you to drive your Corvette as often as you can And not put it up on a pedestal. These cars were made to drive and enjoy and when you get to be my age, you don’t want to look back and think to yourself. I should’ve driven the car more. Take off those T tops. Stow the rear window and have yourself more fun than any human being should be allowed to have. Good video.

Not only 68-72 were chrome bumpers but the last high performance engines. Clearly the best of the C3s

Looks like LeMans Blue. Corvette paint colors back in the day were named after race tracks.
