I am the one that built this car.Dan has a very nice ride that is well built.This is the one I hated to sell but moved on to other projects.I am in the process of building another 69 Dart for Dan's brother who sold him this car.It will have a BIG Small Block with a 4 speed.I am sure you will see it around East Tennessee this summer.It's Vitamin C orange, you can't miss it!

Great car just the way its sits... Who cares if the factory made one, this car is set up really nice today... Nice motor, stick shift is for men and really great looking paint.. Scottie always does a great job showing us some nice rides !

The lunch lady in high school had a Dart GT like this with the slant 6 and auto trans. We had as much fun as you could have with a 6 cylinder car.

Brings back some memories my very first car was a 68 GTS 383 4 speed then about a year-and-a-half after I got that I ran across the 69 GT 340 4 speed so I snagged add up too that was back in 79 80 I wish I still had both them cars especially the 68

Dang Scottie, I had a 67 Dart same color as this GTS when I was 16. The thing is it was a 4 door slant 6 ☹️. Being 16 and working in a gas station I tried to make it something it wasn’t. I put a 4 bbl carb, headers, hurst shifter, chromes with baby moons, shackles, all the fun things a pimple faced kid would do in 1969. It sure was fun doing it. Then sold it to another young dude that fell in love with it. My next car was a 69 Mustang 428 CJ. Now that car was every bit and more of what I wanted. It was a year old with 13k miles and I paid 1900.00. Keep up the good memories Scottie.

I really loved this video! Thanks for posting it ScottieDTV!!! I used to have a '69 Dodge Dart GT myself and mine was used for drag racing and had a 440 swapped into it also! It also had a full cage, tubbed out, fuel cell, battery in trunk, etc. Mine was originally white with red interior and I was doing some body work to mine at the time and my ex-wife hated it! I had to sell it during the divorce! I really miss that car! lol I'm looking to buy another one to make a Hemi-Dart clone out of it!

Very rare even a gts with a 440. Mr norms gss grand Spalding special came with 383, 440s and I don't even think the hemi was a option. Sounds great

A 440 Dart was not a factory option. The largest factory optional engine was the 383. The 440 Darts were "Code M" Darts, which were specially modified by Mr. Norm's Dodge, a dealership which worked with Hurst to modify brand new cars for customers. However a 440 swap into a 67 or later Dart isn't a difficult job. They will fit, and some parts bolt right up.

@69moparfan. The '69 GTS most popular factory installed engine was the 340. Also, only the GT Sport(GTS) and Swinger received the bulge hood in 1969, NOT the GT.

I love this wheel and tire combo so much that I bought the exact Coy Wheels for my '73 Dart. Does anyone know the tire sizes? I took my new rims to a local tire shop in a small town in Texas to buy tires. You would think I asked the salesman to perform a neurosurgery. I havent gotten anywhere with the tire purchase. If anyone has any idea the sizes, please help.

Those cars came with a 5-lug 4-in. bolt circle so no way are those hubs stock 13 and 14 in. wheels were found on them. Those are one step up. From another car as the 4-in. pattern was gone in 1972 on some of the A-body cars. The A-body 8 3/4 rear is only the small pattern .

I know he said he was running 18x8 wheels in the rear and 17x7 in the front but might you know what tires he's running front/back? Maybe the backspacing per front/back? I'm trying to outfit my 67 Dart with wheels/tires and it's tricky to get it right and this dude has a really nice combo.

The GT was a trim level ( buckets, console , chrome trim etc ) the GTS was the Sport and you could only get the hipo engines

it's a nice dart, but I wish he would've kept the auto. my dad and I, when we were still racing, built a 69 340 dart gts it turned 10,2's through the mufflers, and with street tires. that was early 80's before mickey Thompson street slicks and flow master mufflers. we used to take sooo much money from guys with 4 speeds!! and even after we completely destroyed them they still tried telling us that 4 speed is better! kids these days with the imports have the same problem, using 5 speed instead of auto for drag racing....crazy

And he was talking about Grand Spaulding so I kinda wonder if he meant to say he was trying to do a Mr. Norm's clone? If you ever see someone who says they have a real Mr Norms car you should check it out cause thats something special. Mr Norm cars were aftermarket like Yenko Camaros or Rousch or Saleen Mustangs.
