When something harmless is judged the same as ACTUAL harmful extremes, it frequently encourages what would be harmless behavior to become harmful out of cognitive dissonance. It was the negative attitude towards homosexuality that killed him. If he could have still value himself during his love life, he might of cared enough about himself to keep it safe.
@frisco21
@frisco21 7 жыл бұрын
Richard Smith...It wasn't a "negative attitude toward homosexuality" that killed LIberace, it was AIDS. This is just a fact, like it or not. I think it's a shame that this stellar entertainer has become defined by his sexuality, which really was his own business, and which he never openly flaunted to his adoring fans. Personally, I think the guy was a class act and don't really feel the fact that he was gay is relevant to his value as a beloved celebrity.

Very talented man. Both comedic and musically. Watch those hands at 16 to the bar. Unbelievable!

The only showman I can think of with this command of the audience was Freddie Mercury. Two of the best showmen who ever lived. Liberace was very warm hearted with his audience.

Today, 2019, Liberace is long dead, but finding this video reminded me of what a really great entertainer he was, supposedly the greatest piano player whoever lived, definitely a very handsome man with a likeable personality. and Liberace was the most flamboyant entertainer whoever took stage...anywhere. Today, I enjoy watching Liberace perform, the same way I did back in the day, but even more so now...thanks to KZbin, I get to replay this video until my hand cramps and I'm totally exhausted.

He appeared to be a genuinely nice person. I dislike all the rude comments about him. His sexuality had nothing to do with his musical talent, and wonderful entertaining capabilities!!

He was a great pianist along with being a flamboyant entertainer. I used to find it amusing that his brother George was so reserved as he accompanied him on the violin. Opposite personalities but both outstanding musicians.

Just wow! I loved reading once about how when he was younger he said he practiced endlessly, but then after seeing a particularly inspiring concert, he then began to practice in a way that made his previous efforts seem like laziness. He was a force of nature!

He was a super, if not the best pianist and entertainer, but his best ability was like most of old Hollywood, he worshipped his audience. His talent and memory will last for many years

My god he was amazing - consummate entertainer, and was just lavishly happy when performing. No one like him before or after. As fast as you thought the 8 to the bar was, when he goes to 16 to the bar is it positively superhuman.

I think he was the happiest when performing. I saw him in person and really enjoyed his show. I used to run home from school to watch his show and Bandstand. I took piano lessons back then. Miss him.

liberace was amazing. i am sure he started out as a child prodigy. i heard that he actually bought the piano that chopin played on. and if that was not enough, he also purchased the piano franz listz wrote his famous songs on. what a sweet man he was and he gave joy to a lot of people through his entertainment.

I am totally amazed at how awesome of an entertainer Liberace was. In the same category as Michael Jackson, Elvis and the Beatles in my book. I wish I had the chance to see one of his shows, but I was only 12yo when he passed. Never will we see such amazing music giants like this ever again. So sad that he is gone along with his museum. A true legend of entertainment.

He was so amazing!!! Although I never got to see a performance, I felt luck to be able to visit the LIberace Museum in Las Vegas back in the 90’s. It contained many of this things. These videos are nice to watch because we also get to see how much he enjoyed putting on shows of the audience. I’ve no idea how much the tickets were, but boy they all got their money’s worth!!!! RIP

Liberace remains among the few pianist still today who still remembered how to play the original boogie sound in boogie woogie music. I myself just released an 1880s saloon style version of the boogie woogie sound. Have a listen if you will. 🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹
