I remember washing our clothes in the American top loaders, and seeing the white socks exactly like you show it in the video, with dark marks at the bottom. When we washed the same clothes in the German front loader which heated its own water (all the way to boiling if you wanted it to), they same socks came out completely white. I think some of it had to do with the smaller amount of water in the front loader which caused a higher relative concentration of detergent, and I think a lot of it had to do with the longer cycle which gave the detergent and its enzymes more time to work on the stains.

Old machines are more reliable and work better than the water wasting ones sold today.
@Channel-cm7ycАй бұрын
Who told you that old machines were reliable??? That’s not true we had washing machine repairman and tv repairman by the dozens driving around cities fixing stuff all day long. It would be more correct to say that machines appliances when they broke down back then were very repairable vs today’s throw away society. Solenoid actuated drives actually were quite problematic and did leave customers quite grumpy often on washing machines. Just like a tube television break down in the middle of a program. It was no where near the kind of dependable society that we see today. Plus there was junk manufactured back then as well!

@@JoeRoaddogSmith that's okay, I guess you are reading challenged. Always nice implying that people are liars before coming to your senses to realize that it is an opinion. Sadly, it would take you to go to another platform because I am silenced whenever I attempt to convey why I feel the way I do.

Washing machines before the 90s are still useful and still can do better in washing with simple panels and cycles as well as simple water temperature and level options. Best of all, no electronics that stop working completely and parts that can break easily like today's washing machines. Just simply choosing normal, permanent press, delicates, short wash, long wash, and prewash cycles is all. I noticed today's washing machines have chimes that cannot be heard with the laundry door closed compared to washing machines with a loud buzzer when the wash cycle ends.

Most machines (none HE) made up until 2006, Direct Drive Whirlpool/Kenmore 70/80/90 series, Maytag Dependable Care (made up to 2006). BTW thanks for posting the video, the water level should be set to small/mini with the amount of clothing in the tub, definitely not getting clean.

@@jjbanks3396 Yep. Today's washing machines with a computer it takes one missing or defective part to not work or not work properly. Also, most washing can be done with a few cycle options to choose from instead of multiple cycles. The best washing machines are the mechanical ones that have a tiny gas engine as well as the ones that are portable and only wash as well as the twin tub type when it comes to lasting the longest. I saw videos of mechanical washing machines getting restored and being put into use just like it was before electric washing machines. It did the same better job in washing the clothes. It is great to bring back the washing machines from the 40s and 50s even the early type in the late 30s to use in washing clothes. They are made to last a much longer time.

I would love to have an old washing machine. How do you find them? I can't seem to find any in my area. I haven't seen them on eBay either.
@albertcarello619Ай бұрын
I think the timer has to be manually advanced to the next cycles.
@martinaguilar5905Ай бұрын
Better than today's washing machines where you have to select another cycle that is going to add more time to wash than the previous cycle.

what detergent

That was Tide with Mexico's branding Ace. The same type of laundry detergents but branded differently in different countries and different ingredients.

Nice machine, but why does it have the burbolator agitator in it. That's not the correct agitator in this machine. Rare machine though.
@martinaguilar5905Ай бұрын
I noticed there are different types of agitators for some of the washing machines of the same brand and model even though most of the same brand and model have the same agitator. I find that odd for some reason.
