I was a high school teammate of a sophomore on this team, Paterno had a model he was recruiting, athletes, quick, fast, big and smart my friend was 6'3" 219 ran a 4.4, barely saw the field the competition was fierce, but he went on to earn a Doctorate write several books in his field and teach at a major university I dare say everybody won with this program.

My dad was a lineman in the 60’s used to hear my parents talk about Bob Campbell. Wish I could find some game film from 1965

Just one of the awesome Lion teams of the past slighted by Midwest and western voters....

Joe, I have a friend , Scott Mitchel who played on the 73 Penn state team as a defensive back. He says he never got to see the game film for the PS Pitt game at the end of the 73 season. He made a great play against Tony Dorcett and never got to see the replay. He is #14. I told Scott I would try to find this game film but have had no luck. Could you help with this. I know Scott would really appreciate it.

I don't have any game films from the 1970's but I do have a slew of Penn State season review films like this one. I posted the '73 PSU film a few weeks back. Of course, it's probably a long shot that the play you referenced made it into the highlight film but I'm sure your friend must be in there somewhere. If I come across the '73 PSU-Pitt broadcast I will notify you.

Joe, I saw the 73 highlight post. Scott is in that reel. The play he remembers is not on that reel though. Thanks for responding

i really don’t understand how President Nixon knew so little about Watergate but knew enough about college football to decide who was the national champions. Penn State was robbed of this one.

You are so wrong. Penn State played a weak schedule, then chose the Orange Bowl instead of hte Cotton Bowl and the chance to beat Texas. The better team won the national championship. But keep trying to gaslight others into your wrong-headed view if it makes you feel better.
@billsnyder40546 ай бұрын
They chose the Orange Bowl because of the segregation that was still rampant in Texas at the time and before Texas was penciled into the Cotton Bowl. Facts matter bud!!

Only time I can ever remember him smiling, was in the Fiesta Bowl, after Vinny Testaverde threw is sixth interception, beating the Hurricanes
