This is one cool custom bug, done SoCal style. It performs too. It has a bigger, performance built motor and the exhaust sounds like a big block Chevy.
EXTERIOR: What a great looker. It's dropped 2 1/2 inches for a cool stance. The body has been cleaned up by removing trim. The turnsignals were removed from on top of the fenders and relocated below the headlights with billet grills. The headlights are the earlier slant back style. The front bumper was removed. The stainless body moldings were removed. The rear fenders have completely custom taillights that were cut on a waterjet in the shape of VW. The hood has the louvers filled in and the extension brackets on the hinges. Rear bumper was removed. Beautiful dark blue metallic paint. It has custom finned aluminum running boards with matching sill plates. The rack on the roof is all stainless and has a real surf board. All the gaskets and weatherstrips were replaced. The windshield is new. It has as a billet mirror. Custom 15 inch aluminum Empi wheels with blue trim. Turn signals and brake lights are LED.
INTERIOR: Redone floor to ceiling. The 4 racing bucket seats give it a cool look. There are 3 point seat belts for each one of them. Down on the floors is new carpet and a full set of beetle floor mats. There is a custom center console with a Scat Pack shifter with a chrome T-handle. The dash trim is in excellent shape. There's a custom billet steering wheel and next to that is a Sport Comp Monster tachometer with shift light. The Pioneer stereo is hooked to two Planet Audio subwoofers, amp, 6x9 speakers and 5 inch round speakers. Door panels and armrests look new, has billet window cranks. Headliner and visors are new. Custom pedals The inside metal is painted like the outside.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Better put your sunglasses on, all the chrome will blind you! Performance built 1915cc motor with Engle cam, 69 mm crank, performance 94 mm pistons, big valve heads and dual Weber 40 mm 2 barrel carbs. It has aftermarket oil breather system. The engine bay itself has chrome insert panels. It has a big chrome engine covers, alternator, coil and air cleaners.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's finished nicely. There is a new insulation pad under the carpet mat. New plastic firewall cover. The spare tire has a cover. There is also a tool pouch and jack.
UNDERSIDE: 2 1/2 lowered suspension. The front spindles and shocks were replaced. It has coilover shocks in back. Custom exhaust has a polished stainless Empi muffler.
This is a fun car. Something about the VWs, people really enjoy them. This is a real cool example of one.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.

I was in High School 1969-73. One of my friends bought a New 1973? VW Bug with the curved front windshield, painted Fluorescent Yellow and had Black Interior. It was a nice car.

73-74 was the cross over for the flat/ curved windshield. You can find both and it is confusing when buying new glass.

Hi Jay. I looked at the price and my first thought was WOW ! That's strong money ! but once you start describing the spec' you realise this has everything a beetle fan could wish for ...and more ! The attention to detail can only be made by a true enthusiast . Thanks Jay.

Nice Beetle! All great. Noticed the seal on engine compartment needs replaced. Sharp little V-dub though. I'd break my neck on the stick though. It would be wall art,or a decoration on the car.

35?!!!? Not at all worth it for a 69. You could build an even better V-dub for less (and a better year!) That car will sit unless some unknown vw person buys it because it's cute 🙄 Not at all worth over 10-12

PLEASE DON'T SLAM THE HOOD! VW hoods should be set on the latch and gently pushed until they catch.
@VoloMuseumAutoSales

That wasn't much of a slam at all. It honestly seems like we did exactly what you mentioned? 🤨

@@VoloMuseumAutoSales Yes, the second attempt was fine. The first try flexed the hood towards Jay. The hoods are very light and unbraced. When you stand to the side, your arm swings the hood toward you and the latch doesn't line up. That's why it wouldn't close at first. Releasing pressure and then gently pushing it home on the second attempt was PERFECT. If you stand in front of the car, with your arm directly in line with the handle; just set the hood down, then push and you'll hear it engage. Folks not familiar with the eccentricities of the VW often make this particular mistake (e.g. my sister-in-law). Most people figure if it didn't latch the first time, then slam it harder and if that doesn't work, really put your whole body into it and hammer it. This causes the plunger to bend to the side and can also damage the receptacle and the hood. FORTUNATELY, JAY HAD THE MECHANICAL SENSITIVITY TO REALIZE IT JUST NEED TO BE LINED UP PROPERLY AND THEN LATCHED. Well done. I wish my sister-in-law was that aware. She slammed our hood down so hard that the plunger was outside the receptacle (jamming the hood). After many tries we bent the hood enough that we could free the latch but the hood was never right again. VW's have a million little odd things about them but are really fun, reliable, little cars when you get to know them. I was the unofficial mechanic for my family and friends (3 Microbuses and 5 Beetles). Our Beetle went 375,000 miles before my son wrote it off and our Bus had 160,000 miles when a friend talked me into selling it to him.

@@VoloMuseumAutoSales My reply seems to have disappeared. I'll try again. Yes, Jay's second effort was great. But, if you stand to the side of the car you natural arm movement pulls the hood towards you. It's very flexible. That's why the hood didn't latch at first. Fortunately, Jay has enough mechanical sensitivity to realize what was needed to get the latch to engage. Most people just start slamming the hood down harder and harder, 'til they bend the hood or damage the latch. If you stand in front of the car when closing the hood, it usually works better. And, I should have said "don't force the latch" instead of "slam." Sorry about that. I was flashing back to an experience with a hood-wrecking sister-in-law. I really appreciate the videos and would to like to add most of the cars to my collection. Just waiting for the Lottery to pick my numbers.
