Thank you for a great video. I have several sapphires to work on. Some work but Have a lot of hiss. Can you suggest a food cleaning de-oxidising treatment? I use mostly De-oxit5. Thank you. Steve

Hi. I just got a Sapphire X. It also appears to be complete and unmolested. I am going to follow what you are doing step by step, so much for the fun of the challenge. As it turns on, I hear the AM and FM, though it is weak and has noise. What is the oil spray called? This is the first thing I need to get in the cleaning process.

Hello Retro Tech. I’m currently trying to restore a 1966 Diamond Dot Radio, specifically built for a VC Valiant (Australian car model produced by Chrysler). Could you please tell me how I could go about getting the fascia off? I’m really scared to pull too hard on the knobs, if they break I don’t think I can replace them. As far as I can tell this is the last VC Valiant radio left on the market, period! 😫

I’m not familiar with this radio. Sorry.

I am trying to refurbish my Sapphire XXV AM/FM radio for my 1977 VW Bus. Electronics are not my forte. Would you consider refurbishing my radio like the one in the video for a fee?

Silicon or germanium transistors?
@retrotechandelectronics4 жыл бұрын
It appeared to me to not be Germanium
@darthbubba8664 жыл бұрын
@@retrotechandelectronics Good, because the germanium transistors are getting harder to find and seem largely to be on the Russian surplus market. That and changing to a silicon transistor usually requires recalculating some of the values of the adjacent resistors. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
