@charger383mopar. Where did you connect the voltage wire?

Did you run all new wiring to high beam,right and left signals,and parking brake,as per instructions or did you just tap into wiring harness?
@Charger383Mopar
@Charger383Mopar Жыл бұрын
My wiring is good so I tapped into it. If you don't trust your wiring it would be good to make sure everything works properly before installing this dash kit.

Did you have any problem with the headlight switch hitting the backplane? My switch touches the backplane and causes it to sit crooked.
@Charger383Mopar
@Charger383Mopar Жыл бұрын
With the headlight switch, I believe I used a large washer on the switch to help keep the proper position. If I didn’t, it would actually not tighten down all the way on mine if I recall correctly.

Didn't really have any issues installing the oil sending unit. I did install it with the motor out and the intake off. I don't think it's leaking but I'll double check next time I mess with it to be sure.

Hey @Charger383mopar I have installed this system into a 1971 Dodge demon and I cannot get the fuel gauge working, I'm running the Solid yellow Intelli wire to the factory instrument panel wire and assumingly the black/yellow wire to ground/sending unit hat. It still is not working, any ideas?
@Charger383Mopar
@Charger383Mopar Жыл бұрын
Mine works but it's not exactly accurate. I also have an aftermarket sending unit so that could be some of it.

Quick question. What wire coming off the ignition is accessory? The dash never turns off unless the battery is disconnected.
@Charger383Mopar
@Charger383Mopar 2 жыл бұрын
For the keyed power I tapped into the radio circuit. The radio needs constant and keyed power so it would be a good spot to get power from.
@joshuaboney393

That connect to the 12v pink wire to the dash? I think the plug for the radio is 3 wires correct?
@Charger383Mopar
@Charger383Mopar 2 жыл бұрын
According to the instructions yes the pink wire on the digital dash goes to 12v keyed power

Aye man it’s all hooked up. Speedo doesn’t work due too the tranny Speedo gear which will be going to the shop to get a new one. FYI. For 12v constant power I used the ignition black wire works perfect.

I’m helping my dad put in the same cluster. In a 72 340 duster. Those wires you spliced into what colors were they? I’m assuming for power to the cluster? You didn’t mention what colors just wanted to get some intel. Thanks!

There are there are 3 wires for main power to this instrument cluster. Keyed power (gets power with the key turned on) constant power and ground. For the ground I just attached it to the body. For keyed power I tapped into the radio circuit (orange wire on the vehicle i think) for me this plug was on the left side of the radio and was very easy to access. For constant power I tapped into a wire on the headlight circuit (blue wire I think) I could have also tapped into the radio circuit for constant power but I didn't feel like taking the radio out to access it. For the dimmer wire on the instrument cluster (purple wire I think) I tapped into one of the wires that power the marker lights (yellow wire I think) on the back of the headlight switch. I would highly recommend getting a wiring diagram for your vehicle and a power probe to help identify wires if you don't already have one.
@Charger383Mopar
@Charger383Mopar 2 жыл бұрын
If you just wanted to get the power probe tester and nothing else this is what I recommend getting. Something like this is extremely helpful when wiring a vehicle. Power Probe III Clamshell - Red (PP3CSRED) [Car Automotive Diagnostic Test Tool, Digital Volt Meter, AC/DC Current Resistance, Circuit Tester] a.co/d/gtnpK26.

Awesome man I really appreciate your help! Gonna be installing it on Saturday. Also, for the fuel sending unit. There is three wires running off none of them have to be grounded correct? They run up too the cluster. And also where was your oil sending unit located behind the distributer? Thanks!

Did you have any interference issues? My speedometer bounces all over the place. I followed all of their instructions, including twisting the speedometer signal wires, re-routing away from the distributor & alternator wiring where possible, & I even ran the sender wires with 2 conductor shielded wire grounded on one end. Still bounces all over.

I was wondering how bright the lights are? I had thought about the blue ones for my 72 duster but all the images seem so dark. Also torn on just getting the white lights to be safe. Also how accurate is the tac while driving?
@Charger383Mopar
@Charger383Mopar Жыл бұрын
I need to get a tach filter because my tach jumps around a good bit. However it is pretty responsive. As far as the lights go when it comes to the green I can see it just fine in the daytime and it's not too bright at night either. If you still had any reservations about the blue I would just go with white.
