Scenes from the first (and ONLY) season of The Immortal
The car seen on screen is my old 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T convertible. Since its appearance as Pete Cochran's daily driver throughout the 2nd season of The Mod Squad, it is now sporting some tape-on stripes on the hood, and a chrome gas cap. The DMV issued license plate 113 AEG was replaced by a fake Hollywood plate. That incorrect chrome gas cap seen in this episode was on the car when I purchased it in 1977, and remains on the car to this day.
This episode is S1:E1 "Sylvia", and is the only episode in which the car appears. This is because the car was NOT the daily driver of a recurring character (as in The Mod Squad), but rather, as the car of a guest star.
To see the car as it appeared in The Mod Squad, see my other video "1970 Dodge Challenger R/T convertible seen in Mod Squad episode S2:E24 (Call Back Yesterday)"
The car itself is unique, being a column-shift automatic (for the actors to slide across unimpeded), almost unheard-of in R/T trim Challengers. (The Greenlight Collectibles "Mod Squad" model car gets this detail wrong, sporting the vastly more common console shifter). Other unique options include AC combined with clear glass (for no camera distortion), M63 SE bling (yes, there was no such thing as an R/T-SE convertible), and deluxe seat belts (that is a "Fasten Seat Belts" light on the dash, and NOT the reverse light seen in four-speeds).
The car has since gone to my good friend Carl in Fresno, where the incorrect black interior has now been put back to the correct red, along with numerous other improvements putting it back to numbers-matching original condition.
