The quarter panels are officially off and the damage is now clear. Thankfully, the roof structure is still solid and we'll be able to build off of that. There is a lot of prep work ahead but soon we should be able to see some fresh metal on this car.

Back in the day when this car was restored they didn't do metal work like we do today. You're witnessing the results of the "hack and pack" or "cave and pave" bodywork. If anyone can save it and bring it back to its glory, it's you. You got this!

You doing a great job keep up the good work!! But all cars back in the day came from the factory with covered in Bondo, my Uncle bought a brand new 1968 Chevy 2 Nova and he got rear-ended when he was 10 years old it was like 5 lb of Bondo that shattered into a thousand pieces and fell off the cars quarters onto the road
@camracing
@camracing 11 ай бұрын
Oh geez, this one had the quarter replaced at some point (was very obvious with how bad it was) so I’d assume all the bondo was from that.

Amazing job young man! This build needs more subscribers!!! You're doing much better work than most on KZbin. I appreciate the detail you are showing too. I'm turning a junk roadrunner shell into a charger shell to drop onto a newer charger (or challenger) chassis so these views really help me plan in my head. Keep up the great work!

The reason for all the bondo is because when the repair on your car was made there wasn’t any replacement panels available.It wasn’t until those Fast and Furious and new Dukes of Hazard movies gave the gen 2 Chargers recognition that they started making more panels available.I remember years ago when YearOne didn’t even have them . This and time to work on a project is the reason I’m just now getting started on my 69. Now thank God you can just about build one from the ground up out of store bought parts.
