Unspeakable vandalism to fit some crappy old small block chevy motor to a Jag especially to a series 1 XJ6- I would never ever buy one. The inline six double overhead cam engine is iconic and why the extra gauges- Jags have tons? Car looks good though- why not fit a jag v12?

Main reason being the old Jag engines are notorious for breaking down and repair is expensive and parts hard to find. 350 Chevy more reliable and parts available everywhere. I bought a mint condition 1970 XJ6 a week ago and it's got a 350 Chevy. When I first saw it I laughed and thought "why tf would you ruin a British classic by adding an old school American motor?", but after doing a lot of research, I learned a lotta people do that for reliability. I live in New Zealand, and this being my first car, I'm glad about the engine conversion since I won't have to blow thousands of $ in repair. Peace
