At 8:34 I learned that you can light matches backwards. I bet that's really effective on windy days. Instead of taking the match to the box, you take the box to the match.

Hats off to the guy releasing the balloons. Not sure that i would have stood in front of a man firing antique or any guns. I wonder if he lived in the shed

This is great! I love antique artillery. So many of our ancestors were familiar with them and used them.🇦🇺

A most gratifying demonstration, bet he was a hoot to get into conversation with at the village watering hole.

Fascinating. I loved how he said "well let's move on to the heavy artillery". If he was alive today he'd probably have tanks or missiles to demonstrate 😂.

Is it just me, or does anyone else wonder what percentage of people shown in these videos are still alive? I've watched some where the children are now easily like 60+ years old. It would be pretty neat, actually, to find your grandparents in one of these videos as a child.

This balloon killer could bring down a kids party very quickly 😄 Fair play to the bloke, he was/is a jolly good shot. I doubt any burglars chanced their arm at his home. Although I did see 2 holes in the shed and he only took one shot.

Can still hold and fire a muzzle loaded cannon on a Section 2 Shotgun Certificate+Explosives license from HSE.

Two holes in the shed - What gives?
@SandrasSpicySpanishSalami Жыл бұрын
There are two likely posibilities; -They loaded and shot twice. -More likely, the felt wad compresses between the ball and charge obturating the bore stopping blow by of gasses, this usually leaves the bore stuck to or immediately behind the ball but because of air resistance separates in flight. This now compressed felt has the density to make a second hole.
@@SandrasSpicySpanishSalami I think it might have been fired twice - at 6:54 - 7:05 you can see smoke rising from the grass, which could be smouldering bits of grass/wadding from the first shot

Was this the type of gun in use when the second amendment was written .....?................................
@SandrasSpicySpanishSalami Жыл бұрын
Yes, amongst other things, including repeating rifles & pistols with up to and in excess of 50 shots on board. As for the cannon, Benjamin Franklin personally answered a letter requesting clarification that possession and carrying of cannon aboard a private vessel for protection was guaranteed for "the people".
