Suggest that most scenes are shot circa 1970-1974. Appears locomotive #385 is in green paint and it was repainted in that time period. The Erie Lackawanna freight train contains Penn Central painted boxcars and PC was formed Jamuary1, 1968. The shots taken with the Erie Lackawanna passenger train appear to be a "first" run of the then-new push-pull trains and they started to arrive in 1970, most arriving in 1971. You may want to reach out to the people at the Whippany Railway Museum as they are experts with this area and history. Thanks for sharing a rather interesting film. The Lionel Standard gauge shots at the end are really neat.

Morris County Central was an experience I wish I could've been around for. They've since became the Whippany Railway Museum and are still in operation- although not as independently as they once were. They now operate under the jurisdiction of the Morristown & Erie Railroad.

I see at least a portion of it was shot in Glen Ridge and just prior to those shots, I think the freight may have been going through Montclair. I thought I recognized some buildings on Bellevue Avenue in the shot that appears to be taken through a car's windshield
