Great video. I was driven to school throughout the mid 70's in a V8 P6.

Loved this tour in the V8 around that vineyard territory and your narration. It's good to see some are still loved out there in the US.

A nice, cool and pretty individual one, your P6. Awesome!

It was a lot of work to upgrade the engine and transmission but was really worth the effort. It drives so nicely now, and high-speed cruising is effortless.

Great car. It was very popular with police in the UK before the SD1 Vitesse came along.

Excellent video and thanks for sharing your 3500S. Did you consider the 4.6 Land Rover engine for more power? Which transmission are you using?
@ejhbritishcars6907 Жыл бұрын
I used the 3.9 liter for a bit more power and it seems to be a bit more robust than the larger versions. I have modified the car and ZF HP22 trans to work. It is a 4 speed overdrive trans with a locking torque converter. It greatly improved the car for motorway driving and fuel mileage. 2,500rpm is about 80 mph.

Was curious how your driving the speedometer?

I used a Dakota Digital Speedometer. Here is the link to the video kzbin.info/www/bejne/hl6ZhIinrNCDgLM. Thanks for Watching.

@ejhbritishcars6907 nice one, I have a p6b with a 4hp-22 in it too. Thanks from NZ

The transmission made a huge difference. It made freeway driving much more relaxed with the overdrive 4th gear and is a far superior transmission to the old BW unit.

I had one of these back in the early 80's but you really need to put back the original hood, sorry mate it's just not my taste. Nice car all the same.
@ejhbritishcars69079 ай бұрын
That is the original hood for this NADA spec car. Basically, it is a 3500 with all the options, including "Ice Alert," which is of very little use here on California.

@@ejhbritishcars6907 well, I'll be a China man, I have seen them before but only thought them to be aftermarket specials, sorry mate I meant No offence. PS, I still don't like it.😝

My understanding is that they were also installed on some of the later UK cars to use up the leftover stock though I don't think that they use all three scoops on those cars. The two outer ones are to ventilate the engine compartment and have "Summer/Winter" devices to open/close the openings.

The 3.9 liter is from a later Discovery but based on the GM design.
