Actually the very early-made 1970 TAs had chrome bezels around the pods while the ones made later in '70 had black bezels (which became the standard for the rest of the Gen 2 run). I've seen unrestored 70 TAs with black bezels.

Nice example but sadly only old rich guys can afford to buy these things now.I remember way back buying one that was beat up a bit for 300 bucks.Didn’t understand what I had then and I ended up wrecking it and sent it to the boneyard.Back then no one really cared much about trans and,you could buy one anywhere and it didn’t cost an arm and a leg.Now these things go upwards of a 100,000 for no apparent reason other than people using them as investments and rarely driving them.It’s sad actually
@barnabyjones51612 жыл бұрын
These are nowhere near 6-figure cars. Most of them are still worth the same amount today as they were in 1970. I invite you to do a cost analysis based on inflation and the dollar value for 1970 vs 2022. You'll find that in most cases a decent one of these is pretty much the same price as it was brand new on a dealer lot in 1970, just not as new and with much higher mileage.

In high school (1994) I bought a 76 Firebird with a 400 for $300. It was super rough but hauled ass and was tons of fun. The driver's side front leaf spring mount busted up through the floor (Iowa) so it went to the salvage yard.

@FirebirdCamaro12202 жыл бұрын
Pontiac didn't have a big block, all Pontiac V8s from the 287-455 were on the same block (the later 265&301 smog motors could be called small blocks, because they had a 1 inch lower deck height)

So I find this kid and his gto and he’s switching motors. 69 RA 3 with 46,000 miles. I took it, had it authenticated and swapped it out, with the help of adaptors, it fit right in. Oh what fun I had! I’d blow everyone away. At 25-0 there was no more comp.so I moved!lol

if you think a ‘70 trans am is gutless then you may want to find out some more information about them. unless it was running with a blown motor there were no gutless ‘69-‘73 trans ams. and by the way, when every other car manufacturer, including chevrolet corvette was building puke cars and sending them to the dealership lots, pontiac was still sliding ws6 trans ams through the back door that would get the job done.
