1970 Triumph Daytona 500 trial run.

This motorcycle has been freshly rebuilt and will be for sale soon. I just want to enjoy it a little before that time...:)

I bought one of those Daytona Triumphs same colour 'Jacaranda' brand new on 1st of August 1970, 300 miles and 2 days later it was back in the Service Dept at the Meriden factory to have the 'main' bearings replaced as when originally assembled the wrong running clearance ones were installed. For the time it was a 'quick' bike but the HF vibrations created havoc, 'blowing' bulbs, snapping oil tank/exhaust pipe brackets, splitting mudguards, loss of valve inspection caps, etc etc. Without that very intrusive vibration what a great bike it would have been.

Nice. When I was 16 (decades ago) I bought a 1969 Yamaha 350 Scrambler that was in mint condition. Road it from Mpls MN to Rapid City and back. Kept it till I was 19 and could not afford repairs. Never had a license.

For best results, get it really warm and you won't Bend push rods.
