The 10 New Pence was exactly the same size and weight as the old Two Shillings they only changed the Obverse and Reverse formats. There was also a third coin that was called One Florin which was the first attempt to decimalize the currency, and this coin, whilst struck from the 1860s up to the reign of King George the 5th circulated alongside the Ten New pence and Two Shillings. All three were in use until a smaller version Ten Pence was introduced 30 September 1992, with the older coins being withdrawn on 30 June 1993.
