I like how it ends on "if we don't do anything, our kids will have to deal with it". Yeah. Thanks a lot for that.

This is an extremely well made film. The story is tight to the point. The sequential build-up and narration is perfect. And above all, we can learn something from it, if we care to listen. Thank you.

This would be my first. And I feel like it was a repeat of 2008 though. Minus the gas lines, of course.

@@fluffyyote 2008 was rough because gasoline was pushing $5 a gallon. Last year, just as tough because gas went back to being $4 or more because of the conflict in Ukraine. But 1973, a war broke out in the Middle East and because the US backed the Israelis, OPEC and the Arabs placed an oil embargo on the US and other countries supporting Israel. People thought there would be less fuel, so rationing came into play. If you had an odd number on your license plate, you could only fill up on odd days. An even number on your plate meant fill up on even days. Or some places there wasn't any gas at all. Why, it lasted until about halfway through 1974. It happened again around 1979 because of a drop in oil production during the Iranian revolution. 2003 through 2008, a war in Iraq didn't help the fuel situation any. Dependence on foreign oil might have hurt us a little and not enough domestic oil production might have been a factor, too.

Why have we never raised up on the govt? Why do we always beg? We are perfectly willing to let the govt control our lives, while they do what they please with our money and regular people? We been getting f!@#$% for a very long time. Will we always allow this? So happy to take less?

People are protesting and fighting back! It’s slow but steady, and we have been seeing gradual and small changes that still mean things. I’d suggest doing some more research into the ways people have fought back against the government :)

Global oil production peaked in 2019. Russia announced this year that their output is likely in a terminal decline, and will never again reach pre-pandemic levels. The majority of new oil production in the last 10 years has come from the US and Iraq, but the US is also about to enter terminal product decline. So where will our oil come from? There's still Venezuela, Nigeria, and Iran that could replace the decline in a few nations. But this will require massive investment and the US lifting sanctions on Venezuela and Iran.

@@dreonwhuds313 Verifiably false. Besides, the V8 is already on its deathbed. No more Camaro, Challenger, Charger, or Durango after 2023. Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, and many other "American" car brands are now owned by Europeans, who will not keep the V8. It's over. I'm not saying this because I like EVs. But it's a simple fact that the age of the V8 in cars is at an end. Trucks have a little longer, maybe 20-30 years left. Oil will also continue to increase in price as stocks dwindle. No one wants a V8 that gets 14 mpg when gas is $6/gallon.

Not related to Biden at all. The oil shock over the summer was a result of Europeans buying up oil on the world market, increasing prices for everyone. This cooled off when India and China stopped competing so heavily and just bought more Russian oil instead.
