This is a test animation of a retro 70s style CGI landscape/townscape I made in Blender 3D based off this 1974 MAGI Synthavision film • MAGI/SynthaVision Samp... . This version I decided to make it look like it came off an old movie film print by grading the colours in Adobe Premiere and adding a film vignette and film scratches layers, am pretty happy with the result! The film dust effect I sourced from this video • old film grain overlay... and the film vignette effect I sourced from this video • Super 8 mm old Film ef... . I then recorded this footage to a crappy beat up glitchy 1990s VHS tape using a 1981 JVC HR-7200EA VHS VCR. I also added a fitting 70s soundtrack to the footage which is track 1 from Sounds For The Supermarket 1 1975 • Sounds For The Superma... .

My goodness! You absolutely nailed the vibe. Really feels like you took and expanded the original "car-ride" segment into its own world. Definitely the cosiest and certainly my favourite part of the MAGI/Synthavision sampler. Really inspires me to do my own thing in a similar style, one day. Again, seriously, incredible work on replicating both the 3D and VHS aspects. One of my new favourite animations

It could be done, they managed to port it well to ps3 and xbox 360, but Rockstar would be too lazy to optimize it

I'd say it's more like grand theft auto if the developers were monks.

@@eduardolobos7380ok then, no need to be rude, @HoshMyTots was just expressing his opinion about this video and you know what, I agree with him and do you have anything else better to do than criticise people about opinions, wow, that’s sad

Love it! Looks like the real deal! I used this same music for my own 1970's animation!

You managed to NAIL the aesthetic right there. I kinda feel like lowering the framerate and then adding the effects afterward would further add to the mid 70s look and feel, but overall, you did good. I get a kick out of retro cg aesthetics, so this is right up my ally. ^_^

this is ALMOST perfect, but to emulate the 70's 3D animation style, this needs to be around 15-20 FPS, the smoothness feels a bit off

The aesthetic is spot on, the only clue this is not from the 70s is the framerate, which is way smoother.

Holy cow I just previewed that game kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWO5k5yMmpakhJo and they are using the exact same track I used for my animation talk about coincidence!!! And yes the graphics look kind of similar too but way more sophisticated and modern. Thanks for informing me about that game! My animation was based off a CGI film from 1974 made by MAGI Synthavision and the music well I just looked for 70s funky library music that I thought was fitting and came across a supermarket soundtrack that I thought would work. Am amazed that game is using the same soundtrack!
