Give the guy a break, wether he's an expert or not, this is a terrific example of an early montreal and no scam. Also, does anyone else think this has more then a wiff of a certain bertone lamborghini to it?? If you kmow what i mean, then you'll probably agree

To all those criticizing him, remember, this car wasn't sold in North America. I read about this car 40 years ago but still didn't know a whole lot about it and I'm a die hard car nut. I had no idea what it even sounded like until I saw a video with Jay Leno driving one.

Excuse me Einstein, this car was only sold in Canada. A remark for you is DUH. Canada went kilometers long ago . The debate about getting sync with the rest of work went on in parliament for long time, hence KPH in this car.

Looks a lovely car. I have to agree with many of the comments though,, When selling classic or collectors anything there is no excuse for not knowing your stuff. It takes what in this case could be a beautiful car to feeling like the thing could be a patched up piece of junk due the presenter's obvious lack of knowledge and thus inauthentic style..

@daytonacoupe Give the guy a break. He admits that he doesn't know a lot about the car. I watch a lot of his videos, and I think he's pretty knowledgeable about most of the cars. He always tries to buy quality cars so that he can make sure that he's not pedaling garbage. Do you know how hard it is to find a Montreal like this in the U.S. Trust me, I've looked around. Most of them need a lot of TLC; this one's at least ready to go

World Fairs are usually elaborately staged commercial trade fairs (a lot of people trying to sell things to a lot of other people). Occasionally a “world-class” fair is staged. Montreal’s 1967 Man and his World was one such fair. The city worked for years to enlarge an island and build another one in the fast moving waters of the St. Lawrence River just to provide a site for the fair. When completed, those islands hosted spectacular pavilions from countries all over the world. Many were permanent structures and some remain today. The roads around the artificial island became the course for the annual Canadian Grand Prix F1 race. One of the “themed” pavilions was Man the Producer which featured achievements in industry and manufacturing. As a device to lead visitors through the exhibits, a fake automotive production line carried incomplete car bodies on a conveyor system throughout the exhibits. You guessed it: the car bodies were the raw shells of the Alfa Romeo Montreal. When the fair ended, many pavilions, including Man the Producer were taken down and disposed of. One can’t help wondering if the car bodies were shipped to Italy to be actually used to complete the limited number of Montreals.

No transaxle transmission. No rear independent suspension. And that upholstery is definitively not original together with the ride height.

I had a 72 Montreal. Nice, smooth, not all that fast. Watch out for rust. They are Italian after all.

Dont know about now, but in the 90s, there were a bunch of these Montreals in the Puget Sound in all kinds of shapes, but mostly parked in front of body shops with for sale signs on them in need of lots of TLC. The further south you went, the less you would see. I lived in Seattle at that time, but grew up in Houston where you would not see these there. The Alfa Spyders were more popular in the south, thanks to Alfa of Houston supplying service and ready parts. What's weird is that the Montreal was only about a hundred or so pounds heavier than the Spyder! I recall my 74 Spyder being 2750 and Montreals around 2900.

The guy is a salesman and he is going to over price the car to make a profit. Never never never never never never buy a classic sports car without viewing in person and look under the car for problems. If possible bring a Alfa club member to look for issues. Club members are very good at knowing what to look at. Have a Alfa mechanic view the car too.

And if I remember correctly, the headlight covers rotate _downwards_, not up...and the Naca-style duct wasn't functional. Not to mention there's no transaxle, just a regular ZF gearbox up front, and a live rear axle with LSD in the rear. Think he needs to read his crib sheet a little more carefully. Or just do better research.
