The real LS7 motor for '71 was a part number 3965774. It was a 454 with open chamber heads, 12.7 to 1 compression, 4 bolt mains and heat-treated connecting rods with 7/16" rod bolts. GM made a lot of these, only to have killed by emission requirements. The part number shown above was for the crate engine and that's how they disposed of them.

Hey dude, i wish i could DM you but i can't, so I'm telling you this in a public comment for your newest video, which is awesome, by the way. Anyway, I'm a huge fan of yours, and i wanted to tell you that you should check out this dude named Steve Mirabelli. He's a top notch fabricator who works as an expert body mechanic for a living, and posts videos of his personal projects that he creates in his home shop. He's done a couple reskins on the Chrysler LC platform which are nothing short of works of art. PLEASE check this dude out. I have no affiliation whatsoever with this dude, other than subscribing to him a few days ago when i found him on KZbin. He's pretty much unknown and deserves some recognition. I'm about 2/3 of the way through his 2010 Challenger/GTX video series. Start at the beginning and watch them through. He's a true artist.
