I really love these cars on steroids.. I'm 55 ,this brings back some good memories.. After GRUMPY JENKINS put a super charged 327 in a Vega, I think 1974..he beat everybody in NHRA competition..He was the highest paid athlete one of those years.. ANYWAY... That is a beautiful car/build..I have driven one with a highly built 327-4 speed and it was wicked fast..(FASTEST} street car in Grand Junction Co. In the 80s....O the memories... sweet!

Yes, all the memories. It was a three-year project for him pretty much all done except for the radio and the dashboard pretty fast too, but not as fast as some of the cars with bigger engines but still scary.

Jenkins car was NOT SUPERCHARGED. His Vegas had tunnel rams with two four barrels.

Monza's older brother. Of course, Chevy stopped calling them Vega, after the aluminum bore 4 debacle. Still cool cars though. Long, long gone in Michigan, save for a few...

It is a li’l stinger scoop fiberglass easy bolt on. Quality hand laminated part 15648. No expense body work. For all cars.

I had a 73 Vega; It had the great looking front end like this one. I had an L88 hood scoop on it but I kept getting pulled over so I put on a stock hood. I put a 350, 4 bolt mains engine with a mild camshaft, weiand dual plane manifold, Holley 600 vacuum secondaries and I recurved the distributor. Turbo 350 auto with a B&M shift kit. I ran Eagle NCT 60 series 225’s on it. It was so fast and so dependable. My buddy with a Z28 couldn’t understand why my car was so much faster than his.

@@andrewwasson6153 sounds like you really had a great car. And also sounds like you knew what you were doing. This is a friend of mine’s car and he still has it and it is loud and obnoxious and it has right around 500 hp. He just uses it to cruise around when he wants to.

@@windsurfed1 Thanks. Mine was pretty nice but it wasn’t as nice as the one in your video. Mine wasn’t as polished and refined and was probably 2/3 the power. My guess is around 300HP. Tons of power for that little car. I wish I still had it.

Well, I am lucky to get this video. He just came and gave me a ride. I did not video the engine. Although it is just as clean as the car itself. It was a last second decision to throw it up on KZbin. I wish I would’ve gotten the engine for everybody.

Nice looking car but your video is lame, you didn’t show the engine at all and your so-called take off burnout was really lame, If it’s got 400 horse you should be able to smoke those tires
